9.15 现在这个年代，一个人想一辈子呆在一个单位工作是不可能的，是不现实的。你是否同意这个观点？

What is the most expensive in 21 century? The answer: Talent. No one will deny that in facing with such a competitive world of today, companies have to compete for the best talents to develop well, or even to survive. Yesteryear in China almost all the people are proud of staying at a company in all his/her life. Nowadays people are proud of being a job hopper. After graduation, if you don’t change the first job in five years, people may think that you are nothing but a loser.


To tell the truth, whether like it or not, most people go to work because they want to earn the salary. So, the more salary they get the better satisfaction they will have. According to a recent published research, the most efficient way to get more salary is to change a job, that is, to find a more generous employer. Here is a typical scenario for a new graduate. After working in a company for two years, s/he is completely fit for that position and is able to do the job quite well. During the time, however, his/her salary is still low even with 10% increase every year. Then one day a headhunter approaches him/her and promises that his/her salary will be double or triple if s/he joined the new company. Therefore, to pursuit higher salary is a primarily motivation for people to leave.

In addition, people need challenges to grow up and improve themselves. Some may feel boring if always doing the same job. Through working experience, people may rise new ideas, realize what things they like to do or even find some good chances and resources to run their own business. So, for one’s betterment, it is no need to hold the same job all the time.

Furthermore, believe it or not, some unpleasant experiences related to work exist universally. For instance, what about dealing with a bad-tempered boss? What about encountering sexual harassment? Or sometimes people have such severe
occupational diseases that prohibit them to keep performing the current job.

Last but not the least, with the advanced technology, more and more tools,
websites and media channels are now available to facilitate people in social network. Like Facebook, Myspace or Linked-in etc. In some sense, It’s easier for people find new jobs by these platforms than by traditional ways.

In conclusion, man, through the ages, has undergone many changes. It’s no need and unnecessary to work in a company for ever. For personal development, for better condition, or for pursuit one’s own dream, people have many choices than ever before.
