TIn the lecture, the professor talks about the recent heated debate for cause of explosion in T. She finds the view that "swamp gas" is root cause no convincing这个用法很奇怪呢觉得。。换个用法吧. e2 v* b; L. d
First, she thinks that no evidence on the site doesn't mean no explosin caused by asteroid. Scientists could find evidence like particles on impact site of explosion caused by outer space object because they rushed there immediately. However, in T, scientists didn't rush to the impact site. So evidences were erased by force of nature. 这段写得不错很简洁但是要点都概括到了
Second, the professor explains that there was no crater because the rock was exploded by the air pressure 这个用法不妥吧in the atmosphere. Thus, even though asteroid slammed into Earth, there was no crater.9 |! b1 H' }- I' S. m
Finally, she challenges "swamp gas" theory that if the explosion was caused by that, the fireball would not concentrate on spot. But on the site, the single epicenter prove that it was not resulted from "gas" but a object from out space. 这个好像说的不明确。。我也没听明白也是差不多乱写的
In the lecture, the professor challenges the argument raised by the reading passage that technology, legal protection for private property and cost saving are the major causes for the transition from cottage industry to factory industry.
First, the reading passage describes that technology is the major force for the transition. On the contrary, the professor points out that the most concern of the capitals in early industrilization was to hire more workers rather than machines including steam machines because more workers mean higher productivity. And she finds that at that time, the steam engine was in the experimental phase and was applied in real work later.
Second, the professor thinks that the legal protection for private property doesn't cause the factory industry, contradicting the standpoint of the reading passage. Moreover, the professor takes Hooland, a country which also applied similar legal protection, as an example to demonstrate her point.(是荷兰吧Holland,我这听错了,我听成了UK的其他地方,原来是Europe的其他地方)
Finally, the professor states that in the early industrilization(拼错了), the transition to factory industry can't save cost, a view(去掉,要不加上后面的定[语从句就四不像了) which also casts doubt on the content of reading passage, because the transition leads to other high cost. For example, she says, buying land for factory, establishing the building and hiring supervisors will spend more money.
In sum, the content in the reading material are considered flawed by the speaker.
