There is widespread controversy nowadays concerning whether the government invests more money in access internet rather than public transportation or not. Arguing for that the government should pay more attention on access internet rather than public means are those who hold the opinion that internet is part and parcel of their life and even they can do nothing without the internet. Contrary to the opinion of many people is my heartfelt objection to the idea. While internet is playing a increasing role on people's life nowadays, public transportation is more worthy paying attention for it can reduce the traffic pressure and improve the environment, which is extraordinarily essential to the human beings.
First of all, one of the main advantages of developing public transportation is that it will greatly improve the severe traffic problems. Due to the growing level of people's lifestyle and the decreasing price of cars, rising people can afford to buy cars, thus having more choice when they want to go out. However, more cars have imposed serious stress on the public transportation system. Even worse, there is always traffic jam, which waste much previous time of those employees, annoying them. For instance, five years ago, it took about half an hour to go to the office from his home for John--my classmate, who is now working in a soft company. Yet, he has to spend two hours or even more time on his travelling so that he gets up five a m everyday for not being late. There are just a few examples to illustrate the grim situation of the traffic. Therefore, improving public transportation should be put on the privilege of the governments' schedule.
Furthermore, more public transportation will be beneficial to the environmental protection. Owing to rapid increase of cars, the exhaust emitted by cars is having a negative on the circumstance of people's living. As a result, the quality of atmosphere is becoming extremely deteriorating and the sky is no longer blue. At the same time, the waste water generated by the car factories severely pollutes the water, which is the invaluable resource to mankind. To solve these problems, investing more money in public transportation is advisable choice.
Admittedly, it is also comprehensible for some people to hold the view that access internet should be considered firstly. They suppose, with the increasing popularity and wider use of computers in office buildings, at homes, schools and so on, developing access internet will greatly improve the work efficiency and also change people's life. True as it seems to be, these people ignore one issue, that is, developing the public transportation has more potential to well being and health of humanity, when compared with improving access internet.
Obviously, all the evidence justifies a unshakable conclusion that investing more money in public transportation is a wiser action. Considerable though the advantages that developing access internet enjoys are, they cannot compare with the benefits that improving public transportation brings about, when the ultimate benefit of humans is taken into consideration. Only when improvement or even eliminating of traffic congestion and environment is protected can people live a enjoyable life. Developing public transportation is one of the best approaches to helping people accomplish the two. |
