周二：do you agree or disagree: printed book has had greater effects on society than television has?

  With fast development of television technology, books, as a traditional medium, are more and more challenged. In order to get lastest news, many people choose to watch television , not printed books in previous. As far as I am concerned, I think that television has had greater effects on sociey that printed books. There are no less that three reasons below.
  The major means that television influence the public is by creating topics of discussion in the society. Television offer people issues to talk and think about. National Geography has brought many most fascinating and picturesque places in the world to deserve travelling, such as San Yan in
China, and most adventurous places.The hot American television play Prison Break has been raising the question that what is true love between family members or is it really
worthy that an individual makes sacrifices to save his brother and at same time ignores the law of country?
  Television also brings the lastest news to the public and make people same pace with the times. Last month, there happened earthquake in Hedi which is the most terrific and serious for the recent twenty years. The journalists reported the news to the world on television: almost every rooms broke down immediately and there was a scene of chaos and tragedy. People from all over the world were grieved and made their efforts to help the Hedi people. The United States and China firstly send the rescue troop to Hedi and donated millions of
dollars. The public also pay their attention to the rescue work in Hedi through television and continuely made their efforts.
  Admittedly, books do have certain advantage over television.They are easy to carry, and many things expressing in word may be better ,such as poetry. However, television can transmit the lastest news to public and creat more topics to discuss in society , which is more valuable obvioiusly.
  In brief, television ,by offering topics we discuss and transimitt the lastest news , has a strong influence on our perception of the truth , of the world or of the structure of our society. We have to admit that it has a role in our life as a source of information , entertainment and relaxation.
