Issue No.069

"Government should place few, if any, restrictions on scientific research and development."
今天头痛,硬憋出来的,见谅啊~

Whether scientific research and development should be restrict by government. The speaker claims not, as far as I am concerned, I agree insofar as government should give more substantiation on science development instead of limitations. Provide spacious imagination to scientist can create more fruits for abundant human’s life.

There is no denying that some scientific researches refer to social customs and ethics, which has a long-habituated in human history and deeply influence our daily lives, and government should give macroscopic administration. An example is aptly to illustrate this point. Clone, since the word wildly derived popularly from born of Doli Sheep-the first successful case of nucleus transplants on ewe. After that, clone technology gendered greatly disputable in scientific area. For the reason that whether clone technology should continuing exerts on human beings or human organ’s replica. Reference to a deluge of sphinx and complex issue, government of each nations of the world adopted effective measures to hold back colon sequence development. In case of severely interrupt human’s normal live order and contravene social customs and ethics.

However, most of scientific research and development has improved to human and society, so government should give more space on imaginations instead place restriction on science. For instance, On the other hand, the record of accomplishment is also impressive. Rural electrification programs have given hundreds of millions more people access to modern energy services. Many countries have successfully nurtured new energy industries, and environmental laws and standards have prompted the development of radically cleaner and more efficient technologies. Around the world, the amount of energy used and pollution generated to produce a dollar of wealth has declined steadily, even as quality of life and access to energy amenities has improved for large segments (though by no means all) of the world’s population.

What’s more, for some scientific research, government should offer sufficient resources and patronize to science development, which would be useful to improve human’s daily life and make sure future stable development. In 2010, China government emphasize in expertise field refer to Energy, Ecosystem, Agricultural, to provide opportunities for further study abroad and give much finance support who study in these major subjects. Obviously, it is strongly improving science development to burgeon and stable development because of government substantiate.

As it stands, in conclusion, the science picture will surely change—but, without policy intervention and technological innovation, not necessarily for the better. If the aim is to simultaneously improving environmental quality and protecting public health—governments will need to act now and technology will need to improve.
