Every time when we appreciate the amazing art, like movies, music or paintings, we always surprise the expertise of the artists, and mostly ascribe the success of those art to the artists themselves, neglecting the contribution of the critics behinds them. After all, the artists, creator of those wonderful works, determine whether their art can be far-reaching or not. However, without the help and critique or critics, it is impossible for them to achieve their gold. In my opinion, we should not disregard the indispensable contribution of critics.

Obviously, the critiques of critics are not as apparent and concrete as the real works of artists, thereby resulting in people's neglecting of them. As we all know, artists create something that we can see, listen, or read apparently. we can see the Picasso's beautiful paintings, listen beethoven's mellifluous music and read Mark Twain's lampoon easily. However, aren’t we see, listen or read the critique of critics conveniently? Because the artists would accept the correct critique and improve their arts, thereby leaving the critic behind. On the other hand, the inappropriate critique are more easy to be forgot. Consequently, day after day, it is only the better and better art that leave. However, we cannot neglect the contribution of the critics.

In fact, critics are essential for the promotion and development of art. First, seldom can an artists promote their arts without the help of critics. This is really crucial at the initial period of the artists when he is still a cipher known by nobody. Only through the sequential critique of the critic can the work of them being more and more modish. The more critics criticize his art, the more popular his art will be. Furthermore, even after the artist have been known by the publics, many of them still require the critics to help them to promote their works partly because they have to continue their job instead of spending lots of time in promotion, and partly because they are not as good as the critics to introduce their job to the public. Take the Mariah's dolphin sound as an example. it is the critics, not Mariah herself who explains to us about the nature of that quaver, about the method to sing like that and about the difference between the dolphin sound and other normal high pitch. So, without the help of critics, the promotion of art maybe difficult.

Second, when we come into the development of art, the contribution of critics are also significant because the artists have to improve their original art and the best method is to receive feedbacks for critics. Compared with the feedbacks from the commonplace people, those feedbacks from the critics, who is proficient to find out the flaws and merits of arts, can tell the artists which part of the art should be reclaimed and which part should be develop. Also, because the critics understand the background of the art, thereby their feedbacks are more precise and more valuable. In consequence, by receiving valuable information of the critics, artist can got great achievement.

To recapitulate, it is not only the artists, but also the critics who lead to the success of art and thereby gives society something of lasting value. Though be contribution of critics are easy to forgot, we have to understand there are a group of critics behind every successful art. There contribution to the promotion and development should not be neglected by the public.
