I partly agree with the statement above. The ideas, trends and concepts are the basic elements of a theory. With the study of them we can have a better understanding of a fact sometime. However, I also suggest student(students) should not strictly follow this step because they may get lost in the observations and, in some certain realms such as math which is very abstract, it is much better for students to learn facts first.
你在第一段里提到这个step,是在题目中没有的,你自己又没有解释,有点让人疑惑。而且第一段就拿出数学的这个例子,和下一段没什么联系呀?)
At the first place, in our common sense, most facts are developed from the ideas and concepts (???)and this process may guide student to put facts into practice. If we have already known some phenomenon related to the theory before, it will get easier for us to understand it. For instance, when I was a child, I was always wondering why water we usually watch flowing on the ground drops from the sky. When looking up, I found nothing but many clouds decorate the pure(purely) blue screen. It kept a secret until I learned the cycle system of water and thanks to my observation I know more vividly how this theory works in reality. Another core benefit of this way of learning is that students can easily put the fact it practice. The history tells us that Watt realized the movement of the cover of the pot when heating water which motivated him to a further study. To the end, he discovered the stream is the original power of this action. What is more, he invented stream machines leading the Industrial Revolution.(你的目的是想论证“先学事实再学概念等理论是一个更好的学习过程” 对吧? 可是,你那个水循环是否是一个好的例证呢,再学循环理论和先学一些感性知识在这一事件里面有决定性作用么? 另外,WATT的例子,他是由实践得出的理论没错,可是这个跟学习有关么?)
Although students can benefit a lot from this way of learning, admittedly, it may also blind our eyes to invest the truth. Galileo, once a famous scientist, announced that the sun is the real center and the earth spins around it(伽利略只是支持哥白尼的日心说,如果一定要用这个例子,我觉得这里似乎用哥白尼更好). However, because this theory went against what people watched before that the sun rises up everyday Galileo was regarded as a heretic and finally vilified. When considering why this misunderstanding happened, we may realize eyes betrayed citizens which them us the wrong thing. Therefore, it is not a right choice to totally adhere the statement(不懂什么意思).
At last, in some abstract realms, we can not obviously observe or learn some ideas before. It is our lack of knowledge prevents us from discovering the facts only by studying what are mentioned in the topic. For example, when we are learning math, we can not independently conclude famous theory judged by several examples. If teenagers do so, it is probably wrong, at least not a representative one. Therefore, when faced with this kind of areas, students need to memorize the theory at first. And then they can understand how the problems are solved.
To sum it up, it is good for students to learn ideas, trends and concepts before learning the facts in most subjects. But they should not too self-confident about their eyes. Moreover, in a few certain abstract realms, the best way is to learn the facts before knowing the ideas
