The author claims that there is no deniable that we should take any means in order to attaining a worthy goal. As far as I am concerned, I concede that any states, communities, individuals should spare no effort to achieve goals, certainly, if the goal is worthwhile. However, on the other hand, no matter how worthy a goal is, the way which we adopt to achieve goals must be range of legality and morality primarily.

How to define a truly mean of a worthy goal is? In my opinion, I think that if it can totally represent what a person really needs meanwhile will not do any harm to society and other people, this is definitely a worthy goal. Therefore, if the goal is worthy, any states, communities or individuals who have it should do best to attain it. It is true that one of the reasons of progress of human beings and society is just because we try hard to make lots of our goals realized. Lately the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) had been held in Copenhagen. The high goal of this convention is protect global environment and control discharge of greenhouse gases, but so are the hurdles. Although for mankind to get even to the threshold of a global agreement is a marvel. But any global climate deal will work only if the domestic policies through which it is implemented are both efficient and effective all over the world. Thus, no matter how difficult a goal is, as long as the goal is beneficial to both human in contemporary and descendent, we should take effective measures to achieve it.

However, despite these goals are worthy indeed, it doesn’t mean that one can attain it by any means. But in the process of attaining these goals, people such as professors, businessmen, athletics, politicians and so like, some of them once adopted inappropriate means in order to attaining goals, which is deceiving even illegal. In terms of academic, few parts of professors deliberate plagiarize other people’s works for the purpose of obtaining a promotion or reputation in one’s profession field. In business field, some businessmen want getting more profits or long for more market-share leads to vicious competition and disorder of the market. In sports activities, some athletics for winning matches against original sports spirit, as a result, these athletics has been barred from attending matches because of using excitant. In terms of political, the famous contrary example is Hitler, for the sake of his crazy political objectives to the people has brought a serious disaster. Thus, we should consider primarily whether do harmful to society or other people while we choose methods to achieve goals, which is accordance with truly “worthy” goal mean.

What’s more, referring to science, art, human activities, no matter what field, just considering the aim but without conceiving the cost is unreasonable. Because some problem is so urgent that needs to be solved immediately, such as unemployment, diseases, increasing population and so on. So factual condition should be primarily considering when we set goals.

All in all, without a worthy goal, states, communities or individuals are like a boat in wildly sea which has no direction; without range of legality and morality, the worthy goal is going “unworthy”. In short, under the range of legality and morality, it is legitimately that take any means to achieve a worthy goal.
