I agree insofar with the notion which the speaker claims that we have pay too much emphasis on the individual and the history could be made possible not by the famous few but groups of people whose identites have long been forgetten.We can imagine the history as a gear,if without the masses the gear will not move and without the famous few we cannot learn whether the gear will take effect or the gear will lose its direction for that the history is created by both groups of people and the famous few;moreover the famous few play a more obvious role in the history and guide the history with the groups of people.

It is ture that history undoubtedly cannot be possible without the masses.As we all know no matter which revolution need the masses to attend,consedering the example that if there are no people join in,the American War of independence cannot get victory and in this war expect George Washington there are many heros whose names are unknown like militia in Lexington,history must remember them;in addition,many great discoveries are found by the effect of many people like Chirstopher Columbus reached the Americas,with the help of all the shipmen ,Columbus can reach the Americas.

However,I cannot accede the author’s notion that history is made possible not by the famous few but by groups of people for that the famous few play an obvious part in the histroy.For instance,in the science domain,since Watt reform the steam engine which fuelled primarily by coal, the industral Revolution in Great Britan and the world are both propelled;in the Second World War the decision of America entered the war made by Roosevelt impel the Second World War to take over rapidly.Assuming that if at that time there is not the decision about it,even if millions of allience countries’ army enter the war and what about the conclusion?In these eamples,one person’s decision or idea changed the process of the history and the famous few changed the human being’s history.

When we study history,we should ont only approve the masses’ contributions but also emphasize the researdch of the famous few.Because the famous historic people always are the signifacant mark of their time,take Roosevelt and Napoleon as examples,by researching Roosevelt wo can learn the American socity condition like financial crisis and important historic events such as America attend the Second World War,the attack on Pearl Harbor when he was the president of America;similarly by researching Napoleon we can deeply learn the coup of 18 Brumaire and the Napoleonic War.History is compsed of some curve and the famous few always stand on the point if intersection,thus reseaching the famous historic people is helpful for us to lear the tendency of the history river.

If we imagine the human society as a ship in the histry river ,the masses are the shipmen and the famous few is the captain,they together created the history and all of them should be remembered.Although the ship cannot run if there is no shipmen,worsely no captain no leadship and certainly no direction,therefore the captain has apparently more value.Perhaps that is why the famous few is finaly to be learned by heart
