Does it the truth that to be an effective leader, one has to maintain the highest level of ethics and moral standards as the author suggested? In response to this issue, Indeed to analyze the preposition comprehensively and systematically. From the first sight, the issue has some merits, which I agree with, that people, who want to be an effective or powerful leader that can be remember in history need to have the sense of ethics and morality as essential characteristics. while , From my perspective, it is somehow flawed and defective, because in some degree, the author overlooks the indispensable function of maintaining the ethical and moral standards and ignore alternative abilities an effective leader should also have.

First and foremost, there is no denying that holding moral and ethical sense is crucial for being an effective leader.
morality and ethics, which both
have a long history, has already rooted in people's minds, regarded as
indispensable abilities for charging a good person. and leaders, whose responsibility is to work for people work for developing work for society, with such moral and ethical standards in their minds when dealing with nation's or country's or a city's \affairs, there is no doubt can give a hand for them to thinking for people and feedback into their decisions, which as a result can make people happen and make cohesion of
a nation or a country or a city, and can also help them reap a high praise, awe, respect from people. for example, president Lincoln contributes all his life to emancipate slaves. which help improve the life for black people but also make Lincoln memorized by all the people in the world. from this sense,
maintaining moral standard
is such a win-win game that people love leaders and leader work out instances effectively.

in the second place, despite the merits of the speaker's claim. however, i still can not totally agree with the issue, and i disagree with the statement that moral and ethical standards are indeed needed but can not be the highest needed, as every people make mistakes , leaders sometimes also might cross the line of morality but people can not deny his excellent work simply based on his faults. and there are some circumstance that moral and ethical sense can not be used. firstly,
it is reasonable that individual is not perfect all the time, that they may make moral mistakes, even the famous leaders no matter how wise in their political realms. for example, the president of America
Clinton, who ever have a
sex scandal with his secretary. and the famous case of water-gate force president Nixon to resign his position and so no. secondly, in the view of the safety of a nation or government, some high level secrets of federal government should be protected and enclosed, called white lies diplomacy, in which situation leaders should not be honest and have to betray the moral to hide the secrets.

finally and may be the most importantly, the speaker seems fails to take into account the fact that there are also some alternative crucial abilities or standards
an effective leader should maintain. it is wise and imperative to announce that an excellent lead should be perspective , wise, having a social sense of responsibility and a sense of
charity.
in sum when judging whether a leader is
effective or not should take every
cases into account.

from the analysis above, i strongly commit to the optimal conclusion that to be an effective leader, one should have not only ethical and moral standards but also some other characteristics such as wise, perspective, charity to society and so on.
