Which is more important in professions and academic fields, imagination or knowledge? Different people have different answer. It can not deny that both of them are important. But in my opinion, it depends on different fields.
There is no doubt that, for the artist, imagination is more important than knowledge. As art comes from the inside of human mind, and make by creation, no imagination, no art. The later generations must have their own idea about what the creation should be. No one can be a great artist only through learning how to draw, how to sing or how to write opus. Richard Wagner famous for it's revolution of opera. He broke the form of opera, give up the separate songs, and make voice be a kind of instruments play with the band. It is hard to think what he will be with out his imagination. It is clearly that without imagination, art is no longer exist. What is more, imagination makes the garden of art colorful. For such reason, imagination is more important than knowledge in that realm.
Imagination is also necessary for scientist, as well as knowledge. For scientist, imagination pushes creations. Scientists should have their own imagination about what the world would be. Under the guild of the imagination, they can make creations to realize their image. Any study must have a total imagination which gives the scientists a clear goal for what should be born in the end. While, knowledge is equally important in science, for any creat must based on the science rule. It is knowledge that give scientists toal to realize their imagination, and any imagination should based on the knowledge. Both imagination and knowledge are important in the field of science.
How ever, the importance of imagination may be less in some study for example history. One can not know what was happened unless they have enough evidence to show that. Knowledge, are most important when study history. From papers, drawings and traces, we can learn what the world was. Imaginations can not give us the truth.
To sum up, it can't define which is more important without think it over about every kind of fields of professions and academic. After realize that, we should treat them cractly when study different objects, and keep balance between the imagination and knowledge. Only through that, we can make through out in the fields.
