大二新生,10.31托福一战。第一次挣扎着写完托福作文,恳求痛批!
09.06.12NA   Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Students should not take part-time jobs while they are studying in universities

Currently, the increasing number of students taking part-time jobs while still in universities has aroused considerable concern. No one can doubt the plain fact that numerous students, for certain purposes such as seeking to earn extra money or obtaining working experience, opt for part –time jobs when feasible. However, there is a general debate over the phenomenon. The majority of people have been taken in by the notion that as to students nothing matters fundamentally but studying; part-time jobs decrease the time students tend to occupy in learning, probably resulting in lagging behind. But has it? Close examination fails to bear out the argument and from my perspective, it does good to further life.

There’s no denying that students can benefit a lot from working while still studying. Notwithstanding it takes fairly much time , what virtually matters is that working cultivates talents, which means via making students learn to communicate and accomplish tasks timely and perfectly ,taking jobs before graduating accelerate the speed of maturing. Bill Gates is generally cited as a prime example that endeavors to work and innovate from the initial years in Harvard and consequently creates Microsoft Empire. Another equally crucial cause is that the hands-on experience gives students who choose to work in advance a great advantage over those who merely focus on studying or more than that ,entertaining.

But that’s only part of the interpretation. Perhaps the most primary effect of taking part-time jobs is that it helps impoverished students. Unfortunately it is likely to be the case that destitution is one of the bitter truths that quite a number of students must learn to face. A recent report shows that millions of students in China are lacking money to finish schooling. Hence, earning extra money and using it towards tuition fees is the most probable incentive for students to opt for part-time work and most accessible approach to resolve all the difficulties. As noted, plentiful jobs such as family educators and leaflets distributers are offered by official institutions organized by universities themselves.

However, it would be a sad blunder to devote excessive time in part-time jobs. What really counts to students most is gaining knowledge. That’s to say, students are obliged to give priority to study, for only if they are equipped with sufficient expertise can they excel in the further formal job. It seems pretty certain that putting the cart before the horse is not the rational option.

As a conclusion, taking-part jobs makes undergraduates capable for further vocations and what’s more, it offers opportunities to those needy students to accomplish schooling. But in the meantime, students should primarily focus on study and not be immersed in an error.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Advertising is the most important cause of unhealthy eating habits.

Currently, one of the most serious problems people talk about centers on the increasing number of people whose eating habits are not appropriate. Nothing, we have been told these years, is more dangerous that the fact that numerous people form unhealthy eating habits such as eating junk food or not eating on time, which would result in a wide range of obesity or gastric diseases. In reaction to the phenomenon, there is a growing worldwide awareness that it is advertising that is the main culprit of unhealthy eating habits. But is this really the case?

To get a full appreciation of what virtually causes these eating habits, we may as well turn first to classify them. Two meals a day or putting up breakfast until midday are two common crucial manifestations of eating irregularly, which is but one of many aspects of unhealthy eating habits. Apparently it has little relationship with advertising but lies solely with the individual concerned. Another major case, which confuses hundreds of millions of people , is the strong inclination for junk food, as known to all , incorporating fried chips ,chicken or coke ,etc, all of which contain high calories and grease. What about this?

It is widely acknowledged that the dazzling and dynamic advertisements such as KFC and McDonalds catch a large quantity of eyes, especially children and teenagers who lack self control but urgently need well-arranged healthy diets. The first taste of these fatty foods promptly makes them addicted to junk food, giving rise to a catastrophic ending ---obesity, asitia and lack of sufficient nourishment. But I really doubt that it is advertising that counts , for advertisements of different kinds including TVs, milk ,bread can be seen everywhere . However, is there anything belonging to these kinds that people become addicted to?Or we’ll figure it out much easily if we take a look at the age group, which definitely indicates that young people are the largest group equipped with bad eating habits. The fact that young people lack self-control , and likely be beaten in front of delicious food or laziness, consequently falling into bad eating habits is far from rare, and is actually of thousands of cases.

In conclusion, it is the self-control not advertising that really matters when we are confronted with attractive but unhealthy eating habits.

09.03.29 do you agree or disagree, students will not use printed books anymore.

Recently the mounting tendency for young people to read books by electronic machines such as computers and i-pads has aroused considerable concern, resulting in a controversy over the issue whether students will consequently give up using printed books. It is generally acknowledged that these electronic machines bring significant convenience to the modern society. Hence, the oldest way to read, which admittedly exist on earth for thousands of years, printed books will finally vanish off the stage. But is this really the case? I have my own doubt toward this issue.

To begin with, there is no denying that printed books have own their unique advantages.
Firstly when seeking for certain parts information that we eagerly in need through the material we just skimmed, it is apparently true that the convenience derived from turning pages through books far outweigh the benefits we gain from checking it though computers, accompanied by fixing your eyes on the monitor for such a long time and impatiently opening up documents one after another, or clicking on the screen of i-pads time after time. In addition, there is likelihood that we might overlook the fact that making characteristic notes on the paper while reading enables us to easily recall the ideas or memories when we initially read through the pages and in the meantime, it is definitely a great priceless memory for us when we get older and an amazing interest for the offsprings.

Moreover, my dad is fond of collecting books since he was a teenager.
Virtually he is hardly alone in the interest. The same attitude that collecting books is a miraculous joy since books are the proof of their past as well as a symbol of elegance and knowledge is shared by numerous people.

Last but not least, we must accept the indispensable that through the history, dozens of predictions have been made, such as radios and TVs will consequently substitute for newspapers or written letters might be displaced by e-mails, however, none of these statements are proved wrong. From my perspective, it is their unique advantages and precious significance that maintain their existence. Hence the printed books would survive without doubt out of the superiority of itself.

In the lecture, the professor objected to the three suggestions to limit the number of cane toad in Australia made in the reading material.

The first statement that the professor made is that the fence which the writer depicted to prevent cane toads moving other parts of Australia that had not been invaded isn't effective. The professor demonstrated his view by pointing out that the young cane toads and the eggs of cane toads are capable to access to other places through rivers and streams.

Moreover, the professor firmly held the opinion that depending volunteers to catch and destroy cane toads which was the second suggestion carried out by the writer was not realistic. The professor claimed that the volunteers who were not trained might destroy those native frogs . In addition, they might lack the ability to distinguish those endangered species .

Finally, the professor maintained that developing a disease-causing virus to control the number of cane toads which is the third suggestion come up with the writer was bad. He proved his view by saying that the virus might devastate the original habitats ,for the virus could kill those cane toads in America , which was a native species there .Hence ,the ecosystem of America might be influenced.
