Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? All university students should take basic science courses, regardless of their field of concentration

I strongly agree with the statement that all the university students should take basic science courses regardless of their field of concentration. Science knowledge is basic in daily life and further study of other fields. Meanwhile, to the students major in art or other unscientific fields, it will be helpful to gain some scientific knowledge to communicate with the students major in science.

First of all, some basic science courses are necessary for the students to understand the various phenomena in our daily life. There are a lot of scientific phenomena everyday, such as the wind, rain and snow. Without the basic scientific knowledge, the students may be like the people lived in ancient time who ascribed the natural phenomena to the god. As the contemporary people, students should know the basic scientific knowledge.

Then the study of science courses may help the study of other subjects. Only know the basic theory of geometry, students major in art can make a reasonable picture; only study the basic courses of math, students major in economy can understand the complex theory of economy; only learn the basic knowledge of chemistry and physics, students major in architecture can know which kind of material support the buildings best. Therefore, to different students, they all need basic science courses.

In addition, know some scientific knowledge can help students major in different subjects to communicate more easily and help them make friends with each other. Usually, people major in different subjects feel difficult to communicate with each other. For instance, last time a student who major in art and has little knowledge in science told me that he did not understand what the other student major in biology when he talked about the photosynthesis. I think that if the student major in art know a little scientific knowledge, he may know what the photosynthesis is that the common phenomenon of the plant and may make friends with that student major in biology especially in the modern time when communication is the most important thing.

As far as I am concerned, studying some science courses is needed for the students concentrate in different fields. It is the basic knowledge for students to understand the world and know more deeply about their fields.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? People benefit more from travelling in their own country than travelling in a foreign country.

I disagree with the statement that people benefit more from traveling in their own country than traveling in a foreign country. In my opinion, people gain more from traveling in a foreign country for some reason as followed.

First of all, people can appreciate different scenery when they traveling in another country. As well known, different countries locate in the different latitudes in the world, which can provide different plants with different conditions. For instance, the country which located in low latitudes is appropriate for the bush to live, while in the high latitudes, the plants are always arbor. In addition, different country has different geometric condition. Some countries are around by mountains, some countries are near sea as well as other countries may have a beautiful pool. So go around a foreign country can provide people more natural senses.

And then, different countries have different cultures and histories. People who travel in a foreign country can gain more knowledge of other cultures and their local histories. This may help people to understand the foreigners. Take the Chinese and American as an example, for Chinese, their culture originated from the Confucianism and the way Chinese deal with things may be somehow conformity, while for American, they precious freedom when they built their country, so they may be more open and free in their mind. It is very important to understand this since the globalization progress quickly in the modern time.

Finally, traveling in a foreign country can bring people more opportunity especially in economy. Traveling always accompanies with exchanging of good, the economic interchange. One can take goods back from the foreign country, while he also can bring goods made in his country to the foreign country. In this way, people can bring economic chances to his country and let the foreigner know more about his own country. On the other hand, people can also bring some matter or technology which his country does not have.

In summary, I considered that traveling in a foreign country can provide people more. Not only broaden their horizon, but also bring them opportunity to develop the economy, culture and technology in their own country.
