ARGUMENT150 - The following is a letter to the editor of an environmental magazine.

"The decline in the numbers of amphibians worldwide clearly indicates the global pollution of water and air. Two studies of amphibians in Yosemite National Park in California confirm my conclusion. In 1915 there were seven species of amphibians in the park, and there were abundant numbers of each species. However, in 1992 there were only four species of amphibians observed in the park, and the numbers of each species were drastically reduced. The decline in Yosemite has been blamed on the introduction of trout into the park's waters, which began in 1920 (trout are known to eat amphibian eggs). But the introduction of trout cannot be the real reason for the Yosemite decline because it does not explain the worldwide decline."

The decline in Yosemite is because the pollution of water and air not because of the trout.
reason: two studies support the conclusion.
反驳：       about two studies: the three species are eliminated because the rule of evolvement？ the condition of water and air in Yosemite is how？
what details about the two studies? maybe the three lost species are in small number as to the researchers miss them....
in the worldwide, the reason is the pollution. But in Yosemite park the reason may be different!

(1) No study with sufficient  reliability and generalizability  is provided to show that the numbers of amphibians is declined worldwide, and also no evidence is provided to show that it is  the global pollution of water and air that caused the decline in the numbers of amphibians.

(2)  The decline numbers of amphibians in Yosemite National Park is not sufficient enough to indicate the worldwide condition.

(3)The author fails to correlate this decline in this park with the pollution of wanter and air; also,  the change in this park has experienced a too long space of time which is not persuasive; the author fails to rule out myriad of other possibilities of the declined numbers of amphibian, and as it is mentioned above, the introduce of trout could quite be the cause of this situation.

(1) Only relying on the two studies of amphibians in YN Park, it is unfair for the author to conclude that the amphibians suffera worldwide decline.
(2) The decline of amphibians in YN Park may result from possible factors other than the introduction of trout. (Wrong!, The author fails to rule out the possiblity that trout is the reason for the decline.)
(3) The relationship between the decline of amphibians worldwide and the global pollution of water and air is neither pertinent nor cause and effect.
