As the development of human society, people grasp more and more resources from the world to satisfy their own desire and appetite. There is hardly any region in this planet which haven’t branded by our human nowadays. What’s more, many areas which were very natural and beautiful are now ruining badly by factories, mines, paper mills, etc, resulting in the dirty environment and the greenhouse effect, which make it hard to live for us as well as our descendants. Thus, it’s high time for our contemporaries to preserve our earth especially these nature reserves and wilderness areas, even these areas are extremely remote and accessible to only a few people.

Wilderness areas and nature reserves are very important to our world and have strong correlation with our society. In these areas, there are often many precious kinds of flora and animals, which are very rare and have great value of studying and observation. It’s well known that many facilities and tools in our society are manufactured by the ideas of animals’ feature. For example, the structure and flying principle of helicopter are inspired by the dragonfly; the theory of setting up a base station for communication is same as the method of bees building their nest. Many fields have shown that we can learn a lot of useful information from the nature permanently. However, many kinds of scarce plants and animals are being threatened to extinction or have been extinct already in recent year because of the extension of human’s activities. Authoritative naturalists tell us there are 4 kinds of animals and 5 sorts of plants disappearing every year. So it’s unfair and cruel for these species because human is also a kind of creature and even come into this world later than many of them. Thus, we have no reason to deprive their lives for our own ambition, on the contrary, we should protect them from vanished and preserve their habitations such as wilderness areas.

Even wilderness areas which are often extremely remote and accessible to only a few people also deserve people’s attention and care. First, although these areas seems to be remote and not easily accessible and thus be little useful for today’s people—possibly because of narrow foci and unadvanced technology nowadays, it’s possible that people in the future will properly settle this problem better and utilize these areas more reasonable. In addition, wilderness areas and nature preserves may have many potential effects on our living space. For example, the plants such as the forest in the wilderness areas influence the climate of large square of people’s residence invisibly. So, it’s unwise to exploit or destroy these areas hastily.

However, some people may argue that making use of the wilderness areas can bring plentiful resources and benefits for the urging need in our daily life. Furthermore, they also debate that rather than let these areas alone in an unuseful state, it’s better to fully explore them. Actually, it’s fairly shortsighted of them to think so, because we already have a great deal of energy and resources, which weren’t sufficiently used. Solar energy, nuclear energy, which is recycled fuel, and other reproducible resources can be better used to fulfill urgent need of human, instead of endless pursuing from species of the nature world.

To conclude, all people should protect our only earth in an actual action. Moreover, because of the government powerful management and the urgent situation of the publicly owned wilderness areas, the government should take great measures to preserve these areas.
