There is no such thing as purely objective observation. All observation is subjective; it is always guided by the observer's expectations or desires.
Does all observation is always guided by the observer's expectations or desires, as the speaker claims, rather than based on the true face of the world? Although I concede that in various realms of human endeavor, such as social life and the arts, so-called 'objective' observations rarely are. However, when it comes to the social science it is necessary for us to observe the world without the influence of our own mind.

The notion that observation is always an interpretation of the world according to one's own experience finds its greatest support in common life and in arts. Regarding the former, people form different backgrounds always hold different opinion toward one thing because they see it in different perspectives. For example, a famous talk show program once talked about the topic that a student graduated from a top university was found selling the pork on the street. Many honored guests were present. A student from the same university felt sad about his predecessor's state and was worried about his own future. The teacher thought that the failure resulted from his not hardworking. But a merchant thinks differently:' Maybe this student would become a mogul in the pork industry'. So we can see, our dissimilar observations are attributable to our disparate expectations.

Also in the arts-one thousand viewers always have one thousand 'Hamlet' toward an artwork in their mind. Since we always see the arts subjectively, our observations toward one artwork are always limited by our understandings and the times. A convincing example is Sunflower which was created by Van Gogh in 1888; it was seemed spiritless and eccentric at that time. However, as the times goes by, he was considered to be the greatest painter ever since and his work Sunflower was bought by a Japanese at a price higher than ever. The painting itself didn't change, Why have it been recognized to be so different? Just because one’s knowledge and experience is changing all the time, we will interpret the art works diversely  due to the subjective observation.

When it comes to the natural sciences, however, the observation should never allow our own attitudes intermingled into it. Otherwise, we may miss the truth. A striking example involves what we know about the status of the earth in the universe. In the old times, people usually thought the place they lived should be the center of the universe for the reason that from our position we saw the sun rotates everyday around us. People thought it was true cause they 'observe' it. Their opinions were so stubborn that they refused to accept the truth discovered by Copernicus and Bruno that actually the sun is the center of the universe. Because of people's subjective observation, the great scientist Bruno was burned to ashes and Galileo was imprisoned to death. If people that time had ever observe that phenomenon without subjective views, the two great scientists may do greater contributions to human's progress. In short, the truly scientific observation requires an objective mind.

To sum up, for the most part observation does not exclude our expectations or desires. In fact, it is common for us to involve our own experience in social life and in the arts appreciation, and sometimes they are even desired for. But, when it comes to science, no matter how much we have learned, the scientific observation is an objective one.

The notion that observation is always an interpretation of the world according to one's own experience finds its greatestgreat就好 support in common lifedaily life是不是好一点 and in arts 这一段没有涉及到,最好不写在TS里. Regarding the former, people formfrom?赫赫这个我也经常打错 different backgrounds always hold为什么要用过去时呢? different opinion towardon/upon one thing because they see it in different这么多different,能换换就好了,不过我自己也有这个问题 perspectives. For example, a famous talk show program once talked感觉有点别扭 about the topic that a student graduated from a top university was found selling the不用the吧 pork on the street. Many honored guests were present. A student from the same university felt sad about his predecessor's state and was worried about his own future. The teacher thought that the failure resulted from his not hardworking. But a merchant thinks differently:' Maybe this student would become a mogul in the pork industry'. So we can see, our dissimilar observations are attributable to our disparate这个词就挺好的,不过是不是有点极端 expectations.

However, as the times goes by, he wasever since的话,还是不要用过去时了吧 considered to be the greatest painter ever sincesince when?至少不是1888吧? and his work Sunflower was bought by a Japanese at a price higher than ever. The painting itself didn't change, Why have it been recognized to be so different? Just because one’s knowledge and experience is changing all the time, we应该和one对应 will interpret the art works diversely  due to the subjective observation.

When it comes to the natural sciences, however, the observation should never allow our own attitudes intermingled intowith it. Otherwise, we may miss the truth. A striking example involves what we know about the status of the earth in the universe. In the old times, people usually thought the place they lived should be 省略感觉更好 the center of the universe for the reason that from our position we saw the sun rotates everyday around us. People thought it was true cause they 'observe' it. Their opinions were so stubborn that they refused to accept the truth discovered by Copernicus and Bruno that actually the sun is the center of the universe. Because of people's subjective observation, the great scientist Bruno was burned to ashes and Galileo was imprisoned to death这个好像是因为宗教的原因,不知道这样说和不合适. If people at that time had ever observe that phenomenon without subjective views, the two great scientists may do greater contributions to human's progress. In short, the truly scientific observation requires an objective mind.

To sum up, for the most part observation does not exclude our expectations or desires. In fact, it is common for us to involve our own experience in social life and in the arts appreciationappreciation of art, and sometimes theywho? are even desired for. But, when it comes to science, no matter how much we have learned, the scientific observation is an objective one.
