The only way to success is to take a practical rather than idealistic point of view

Where there is a will, there is a way. The will here is the idealistic factor in one’ image, while the way here is the practical actions or steps taken by a person and lead him or her to final success. In this sense, both idealistic and practical point of view are important in leading to one’s success. However, to some extent, the idealism plays paramount role in human’ survival and development.

Undoubtfully, practical behaviors can bring people the fortune, status, power or reputation instantly. If the success is defined as one with wealth or certain social status, then the practical actions can really lead to this kind of success. For example, from a business man’ practical point of view, what he needs ferociously is to gain profits and all his actions is based on this desire to increase sales, gain the confidence of the customers or reduce the cost of expense. He is probably succeed due to the things he does. He can achieve a lot, and built his own fortune.
If the success is defined as one does what he or she wants and lives in the way of life he or she likes and enjoys the quiet in one’ heart, then most people would achieve great success regardless of their wealth or social status. Taking a famous poet in china history TaoYunMing for example, he resigned to follow his inner voice to avoid working with the corrupted officers. He refused to live the way of life as other officers did, and resigned to be a farmer. Though the life was hard, he lived happy and wrote a lot famous poetries with a good temper. These poetries are still being widely red today and his name was remembered by generations. Though he was poor and had no social status at that time, he built his reputation through his way of life and no one can say he is not success.
Moreover, without the endless effort by enormous people who followed their idealisms, people cannot make such great progress and development in today. In the dark mediaeval Europe, the church controlled both people’ life and their thoughts. Every though which contradicted to the spirits of the church was prohibited. There was no fresh air, no academic activity while church controlled everything and existed everywhere. However, there were still some people followed their ideality to find the truth and revealed it to people. Some of them were executed; some were expired and some were fired. One famous example is Giordano Bruno. An Italian philosopher who used Copernican principles in formulating his cosmic theory of an infinite universe. Condemned by the Inquisition for heresy, immoral and blasphemy, he was burned at the stake.  But nothing can stop the way of people’ progress. These people’ opposition aroused others and finally the whole intelligence and consciousness. Through the way of opposing the tyranny, people as well as society gain profits. Though these pioneers might live in miserable life or be killed, they revealed the truths to us, left us the power of spirits. In this since, no one can say they are not the successful people.
In summary, the practical view or action may really lead people to individual successes. But the idealistical view can lead to the finally benefits to whole human being regardless of their races or color or nationalities.
