Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited. As a result, tourism will soon become obsolete.

With the development of the technology, television and computer have entered every home. Owning to these facilities, people can recognize a lot of places that they have never visited. But does that means the declining of importance of the tourism? I can not agree with this kind of view.

To begin with, we have to admit the advantage of the television and computer in the tourism in many aspects. The Internet does connect the world together. People who stay at home can enjoy the famous places all over the world. Sometimes we do not have the condition to go to that place for our own, so the television and worldwide computer connection can remedy our regret. Such as the journey to the Arctic, not everyone has the money and the health condition to experience journey to the Arctic, but through television and computer, those have no chance to realize their wishes can also enjoy the beautiful sight of Arctic. Moreover, the tourism on the television and computer is much more economical. People need not to pay for the traffic, the hotel and the places they want to visit. So to those who do not have the economy condition, the television and computer can provide them a good way to realize their tourism dream.

However, can the place of the tourism be placed by the television and computer? Of course not. Firstly, the meaning of the tourism is not only for seeing but also for experiencing. For example, the feeling of living in the Inuit's ice house, the taste of the roast of Brazil and the enjoyment of the sea beach of Hawaii, those feelings can not be replaced just by the productions on the television and computer. Secondly, sometimes the tourism can make people relax and have a better emotion. Suppose that, when you climb up a peak and have a chance to see a sunrise, you must be lost in the beauty and the mystery of the nature and an intense esthetic emotion may rise in your heart. This feeling can no be got from the pictures of the television and computer. So tourism, because it has its own advantage, can not be replaced by the television and computer.

Furthermore, I even do not think the effect of the television and computer will cause the depression of the tourism. Maybe it will benefit the development of the tourism. We should admit that with the help of the television and computer, many places once were not well known become more and more familiar to the people from all the world. Many people could know the beauty of the places through the television and computer, and then the idea that they want to tourist to the place is aroused. So the development of the television and computer may make the future of the tourism better than ever before.

Due to the above discussion, the widely used of the television and computer may not make the tourism be obsolete but attract more people to have tourism. So the tourism can not be placed but will become more popular.
