It is primarily through formal education that a culture tries to perpetuate the ideas it favors and discredit the ideas it fears.

The mainstream culture of the society is sometimes portrayed as dominated by formal education which used to play an important part before there is advanced education such as college education. In my personal opinion, the formal education, with the combination with other means of education -- masses' media, family education as well as the influence of society --together boost the development of varies of ideas, whatever they are favored or feared.

The flying speed of technology innovation, the erosion of traditional values and loyalties and the instability of international relations are all from time to time cited as evidence that we are now living in a world radically different from the past. Especially when colleges and other higher education institutes emerged one after another, the indoctrination by which the dominators used to stable their mastery faded out of history bit by bit. In a historical perspective, the development of society ideas is just like the growing course of a stream. Small at first, narrowly contained within its banks, and rushing passionately past boulders and over waterfalls. Gradually the river joins the other streams and grows wider, the banks recede, and in the end, without any visible break, the river becomes merged in the sea, finally reaching its destination.

Nowadays, the higher education institutes, as the forge of different cultures and varieties of ideas, take us to a new era of knowledge maintenance and skills requiring. There, ideas no matter popular or unpopular, have the equal state to struggle for their validity and recognition of the people. Majority of new ideas that have brought us a lot of convenience and benefit just as nuclear and space technology have given the entire human being a much wider and deeper recognition to ourselves, to the world and to the immense universe.

Family education, which gives us an eye to see the world and our surroundings for the first time and at the same time tells us right from wrong, as the first education that we receive, also has a indispensable function in perpetuating the ideas which the culture is in favor of.

Now, we are living in a world full of all kinds of information. The information all around the world is traveling at light speed by internet, telephone and telegraphs etc.
it is right due to these swift means of information transportation that we can get the info as fast as possible. These high-tech technologies perfectly provide the inhabited environment where all ideas are free to live in.

Totally speaking, I do not agree with the illustrated idea. It is through the combination of all means of education, visible or invisible, such as formal education, family education and masses' media, that all the ideas, no matter the culture is in favor of or not, formed the modern culture we share as a whole.
