17"There are two types of laws: just and unjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just laws and, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
Since the laws ever exist, there are two different kinds of them, the just ones and the unjust ones. Obeying the just laws and resisting or disobeying the unjust laws is responsibility of individuals. But, before people take action, they should make clear what a just law is.
Before analyzing the proper attitude towards the two kinds of laws the speaker mentioned?, I would rather examine the definition of the so-called just law and unjust law. In my opinion, a just law is a law which can best satisfy the need of most individuals in a society and promise the well-being of the society as a whole. And an unjust law is as the contrary (vis-à-vis?). In this definition, the meanings of "just" and "unjust" are somewhat different from what we use in our everyday life, but it is better and more practical for a law. People usually judge from their own interests and desire to evaluate whether a rule or regulation is just or unjust. For example, a law which requires higher tax from foreign corporations than domestic corporations may seems just in the eyes of the domestic producers and merchants who provide less competent product than the foreign companies. While, for the domestic consumers, they may think that the law is unjust, for they should spend more money to buy the product they like. But, what should be bear in mind is that every individual lives in a society, and it is harmful if people only concern about their own benefit and judge from their own point of view. And the purpose of the law is to harmonize the relationship between the individuals and promote the progress of the society as a whole. Thus, I define the just law as the law can best benefit most members of a society and help the advancement of the society.
你的意思是:公正的法律就是协调各方利益,使大家都有好处。
After making clear the definition of just and unjust laws, I willingly agree with the speaker that it is the responsibility of an individual to obey just laws and disobey or resist unjust laws. (句式重复了)
Obeying just laws, which can bring about benefit for most members of the society, is a responsibility for individuals. For it promise a more stable society. Only when most people in a society is living a relatively good(high-quality of?) life, and get what they deserve, can the society be in harmony. And only when the society is stable and in harmony, individuals can best develop and progress (动词形式有误). For just laws target on the benefit of most the members of the society, obeying the just laws is a wise choice for rational individuals. Imagine a country where nobody obeys the just laws: people steal, because they lack food; people kill out of their temporary rage; governors corrupt; professors copy others' thesis. It is a country completely out of order, and everybody's interest and life is in danger every single minute, even every single second. The bad effects result from disobeying the just law. Thus, it is easy to accept the importance of obeying the just law.just law 如何benefit大多数人你好像没有说清楚。
And, when people confront unjust laws, appropriate action is to disobey and resist. Without this kind of action, the unjust laws will simply remain, the interest of the people will continue to be harmed, and the progress of the society will be impeded. Without the protest of the American people, they may still pay high tea tax (没有强调它的unjust) to England; without the endeavor of the black people and some white people, the immoral slavery may still exist; without the boycott of (from?) the workers, the capitalists may still impose 12 hours' work on them. Unjust laws usually serve the will of the power他们难道不是人民的一员?强调协调。, the ones who make the laws, not the well-being of the people. To ensure most individuals in a society enjoy the same rights and live a relatively good life (重复), resistance and disobeying to unjust laws are the responsibility of all the individuals.
In sum, for the just laws offer most people a benefit and promote the society, people should obey them. On the contrary, the unjust laws contradict the well-being of the people and should be resisted and disobeyed.
总结一下:论证有点空洞哦!大话比较多,实例的支持不够。句式和搭配的重复请注意一下。 |
