Does society place enough emphasis on the intellect? Or pay much attention on non-intellect? As far as I am concerned, I agree with the speaker's idea that society should pay more attention on intellect such as reasoning and cognitive skills. And the best way is to find a balanced point when facing these two.

To the most, there really has many phenomena’s like ignore the intellect that exists in current society. Especially in the education of middle school and elementary school, teachers always teach more skills about remembering skills in history and philosity, but ignore the skills of reasoning and cognitive, there has little time for students to think about what, why and how, none depth in understanding either. After a long time, these students would lose the ability of judgment and leering by oneself, and would easily be cheated and using. As a result, the social would be damaged too.

In fact, intellection the same like intelligence quotient (IQ) is essential to every people and the society, keep more emphasis on intellect can make the society more prosper and wonderful. Though undeniable, non-intellections are really crucial to people, such as emotion quotient (EQ). The society is not wise to only place emphasis on this point. For instance, when a company is making decision, especially in the situation of product risky, the leaders of the company should make decision better depend on the knowledge of risk management and have super abilities of reasoning to know what may happened after they make such these or those decisions.

Furthermore, one visual example can testify this, one company which produce the carbon razors in America, facing the competition and shrink of marketing that one England company who produce stainless steel razors bring to them, the leaders in the American company didn't make decision after a depth reasoning and make an impulse emotional decision, and lead the company into bankrupt at last.

Moreover, it is better combination of intellect and non-intellect that offers the possibility to connect together, just means to find the balance between them. Both intellect and non-intellect are important to people, people can live better with them two. So I suggest that the society should emphasis on both of them, not to secund anyone, and find a balanced point between them. Thus will make the society more safely and comfortable; prosper and honor.

To sum up, society should place more emphasis on the intellect, because of such abilities like reasoning and cognitive is necessary to a people in order to judge the truth and fair. Without intellect, people would become slowness and cannot see the essence of some situations in the circumstances. The society should keep a balance between intellect and non-intellect, and this is the best way to treat people whether he is success or not.
