The progress of human being which refers to all the developments in society's every realm cannot be simply determined just by quantitative measurements and logical analysis of data. In some enterprises of human, it is apt to use objective data to suggest the extent that the nation has advanced. However, lied on the human nature and ethic, it is commonly accepted that only by using logic and precise measurement provides too little evidence to indicate how far we have stridden a step or retreated.

As for deciding the quality of human's life and individual's physical healthy condition, it is proper to choose quantitative measurement and analyze specific data samples.
When it comes to evaluate whether a person's body is healthy or not, by collecting and then analyzing data such as personal weight, blood pressure, cholesterol level, and pulse frequency can achieve a satisfied result. Also, in the some other endeavor, involving personal finance, the average education level of a nation, the average life span of a country, and so forth, logic and quantitative means are always able to apply a comprehensive glance.
Under this circumstance, there is no denying that logic and precise, careful measurement have an access to estimate the progress of human beings accurately.

On the other hand, limited by the extent of people's cognition, it is difficult for human beings to measure the influence of our behaviors on occasions. No matter how wisdom persons are, the future of the globe would not be predicted exactly. For example, with the development of chemistry science, the emergence of nuclear weapons brings about more the panic rather than benefits to the world because of the irretrievable damages caused by the nuke. But if only judging from logic and technology factors, it is no doubt this invention promotes the researches in chemical and related scientific fields significantly. What is more, along with the performance of globalization, it is more and more ordinary for human beings to face the problems resulted from the conflict among different races and various cultures, the threat from environment pollution, and gap between wealth and pool. Thus, merely by exerting quantitative and logic measurement would be inconvenient to appraise the degree of social advancement.

In addition, whether the human nature go ahead of fall back is impossible to be measured via logic and data analyzing methods. What is the most distinct  standard of judging the progress of human nature depends on the value system which the society is perceived. And this value system should consist of justice, equality, freedom, democracy, and so forth. For instance, it is democracy that  represents a sort of human rights to express one's mind freely regardless of any restraints from political environments. Although it appears democracy that brings seldom fund to a nation, from human nature's perspective, it is undisputed that democracy boosts the development of a country but the degree of the promotion is difficult to be calculated. Thus, it is obvious that not all areas' progress could be decided by logic and precise measurement singly.

On balance, just relied on logic and intelligent vehicles but ignored what humans perceive could not solve numerous realms' problems. When facing serious issues in the world, like terrorism, wars in some regions of the earth, the cultural collisions between nations, aside from logical calculate, we should consider tolerance, sympathism and self-examination together at the same time so as to obtain an optimal measurement for evaluating the extent of human being’s progress.

核武器的例子还算贴切，但后面污染，贫富差距的问题好象不是很有说服力．而且觉得你没有讲完啊，从what's more到wealth and poor，只是说了随着全球化，人类要面对更多问题．并没有讲到这些问题的复杂性（以至于我们不能单纯从measurement来衡量），但你马上就thus引出结论了．感觉就是只分析到了一半．
