（1）基本同意作者的观点。
（2）“是金子就一定会发光”，艺术家创作出来的优秀作品就如同金子，迟早会被社会所接受和认可。有些作品能够立刻引起人们的心灵上的共鸣，给人美的享受，于是就马上被接受了，比如中国古代王羲之的书法，在当时就已经一字千金。但是也有些作品可能比较抽象或者深刻，不太容易被普通人所接受，比如中国的四大名著之一《红楼梦》，这是就可以借助批评家的评论来更好的理解。批评家在上面提到的那点确实可以起到一些作用。他们可以从比较专业的观点来分析，让金子更快的发光。
（3）但是批评家的负面作用也是不能忽视的。一方面，批评家本身可能也不能理解艺术家的作品，这样评论以后反而会淹没优秀的作品。另一方面，如果批评家是被统治者利用的，很可能有益淹没作品。
（4）所以，是艺术家带给社会永久的价值，批评家的评论可以作为一种辅助工具，但不能盲目相信，只能作为参考。

I basically agree with the author's assertion that it is the artist, not the critic, gives something of lasting value to the society. It is the artist who creates the invaluable art, whereas critic only comments on the production and gives out some analysis that seems professional and beneficial for people's understanding of art. However, although critics have some use, they perform the counteractive effect for art being accepted by people.

As an old saying said that gold would be shining finally. The excellent arts created by artists are just like gold, then they will be understood and accepted sooner or later. Some arts can give great impact and beautiful enjoyment to people's emotion at people's first glance, thus they will be accepted and reveal their value immediately. Take XiZhi Wang, the ancient well-known calligrapher of China, as an example. His handwritings were so famous in his era that it was hard to get one word he wrote even using thousands of gold coin. Still now, his handwritings are as template for people's practicing calligraphy. Under this circumstance, critic can hardly find their places. Nevertheless, some arts maybe relatively abstract or have profound meaning, which seem difficult to understand for common people, thus can recur to the help of critics. For instance, "The Dream of Red Mansion", one of the four most famous novels of China, has abundantly connotative contents that can reveal the society of the contemporary era. If not for the analyses of critics, most people possibly cannot enjoy profoundly the masterpiece. At this case, critics do show their advantage because depending on their relatively professional explanations, the "gold" is likely "shining" earlier.

However, the disadvantage of critics also cannot be overlooked. On the one hand, it is possible that critics themselves also cannot understand the arts or understand wrong because the arts are always the production of artists' inspiration, therefore, their comments cannot help people, or even will mislead people and result in the neglect of valuable art. On the other hand, if critics are utilized or controlled by the governor, it is totally likely that they debase the arts purposely. Then if only critics' comments are believed, it will be a pity for individuals and society because they maybe miss a preeminent art. For supporting example we need look no further than Mark Twain’s novels. He satirized the gloomy politics controlled by money in his novels, and soon was attracted by the critics who actually serve to the politicians. Consequently, if critics do not comment the arts objectively, the harms brought by them are enormous.

To sum up, we can conclude that only artists can bring lasting value to the society. Critics can be as a secondary assistance, but their comments can only as a reference, and should not be trusted undoubtedly.
