History as the affairs happened in the past has been recorded and studied by human kind. While some say that the chief benefit of the study of history is to break down the illusion that people in one period of time are significantly different from people who lived at any other time in history, I believe that the chief benefit of the study of history is to not just to recognize the similarity of human of each era, but also the difference and other benefit more than cognation is significant as well.

First, as a deeper study of the difference of people in different eras, the study of history has the benefit that it uncovers the constant principle behind the external changes and makes an objective and comprehensive self-recognition for humankind. Such examples are not rare in history. The large amount battles in history, though the cause and weapons are not same, the inside is the unalterable human nature that dissatisfaction and greediness. For most stuff in the physical world, the appearances variety form time to time, the nature is common and constant. Therefore, it is the chief benefit of study of history for the recognition of deep inside of both rules of the nature and the nature of humankind by look through the appearance.

Meanwhile, it is admittedly that the people in one period of time are significantly different from those lived at other time, and it is also the chief beneficial to study the different in history, because such distinctness indicates the development and diversity of human kind. For example, the way people product food varied from generations, hunting in remote antiquity, then farming in feudalism society, till now the mechanical production, such differences in the production illustrate the progress for human developments. Apart from the basic skill of human kind, such dissimilarity is lied on almost every aspect of human life, from language to handwriting, from the cultures to the customs, and so on. And the study of the differences In history is beneficial, ascribing to the clear and comprehensive cognition of human changes.

Moreover, apart from what had been remounted above, the benefit of study of history should be more than recognition. First, the history affairs guide us to make right decisions and avoid the same mistake to be repeated. Like the disasters in history warns human not to act against the nature laws. Second, the experiences form the history created many theories, such as the theories of military from the experience of battles in history. Third, the greatness people had set good examples to modern people. The high morality standard of Gandhi, the determination of (想不出来了~~), the persistence of Thomas Edison for insurance, encourages people nowadays. As a result, the study of history has many benefit besides the recognision and be important.

To sum up, according to the what had been discussed above, the conclusion could be draw safely that the chief benefit of the study of history is the self-cognition of human kind, both different and similarity, and apart from that, the study of history also can guide people, set good examples for them and provides lots of evidence as well. Thus, it is important for us to study history well.
