TOPIC: ISSUE130 - "How children are socialized today determines the destiny of society. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned how to raise children who can help bring about a better society."

Contemporary always think that children, who are the next generation of them, no doubt will determine the future of the society. So the education of the children has become very important now, but actually our education has many problems to raised children become who can help to construct a better society.

Our human beings have achieved great civilization now, and all of us want the society would have a bright future. Our children is the major in the future, we all hope they could construct a better society and lead a good life. So how to raised the character of the children would have great affction to the destiny of the society. But as far as we see now, our education is hard to achieve this goal. The future generation always lack of some abilities to become good constructers.

First of all, our education always emphasis too much about the grade the students get and fail to raise other abilities. The teacher just encourage students to remember the facts in the textbook and could pass the examination  of different kind. In many countries, the teachers even put the most important goal of education as to let student enter good universities. The result of this kind of education that the student only know the knowledge in the books and can not solve the problems even the simplest they face in the reality. Some student even don't know how to do the housework. Many graduates who learn machines even just know how to mend a bicycle in the blueprint. Many of the student fear to communicate with others, it makes them hard to cooperate with their companions. These all cause problems when they enter the society. So the education should not only teach knowledge to children, but also raise the ability to solve the problems in real life.

What makes the matter worse, the education always fail to help students form the right characters, the right understanding of value and life. All these even make many children not the constructers but the problems of the society. This make many social problem now. Statistics from the United Nation Education Science and Culture Organization shows that the rate of youth crime has raised by twelve percent these five years. And we could still remember the generation of the lost, at that time, the youth didn't know who they were and what they should do, and many of them lost themslves. This has some reason of the environment of the society, but the failure of the education can not escape the responsibility.

There is an old Chinese saying that the who is teacher should teach student knowledge and methods, help them in enterprise and help to work out the problems they faced. I think this is what education should do. So we must know that the purpose of education is not only to teach children knowledge in the textbooks, but also should raise them the ability to solve the problem and live in the society. The education also should help to form the right character of children, to let them be useful for the whole society.

In sum, children is a problem we have talked about for a long time. We all know the important of them. After what I have discussed above, many people would come to realize that we should reform our education to help children become the constructer of the society, so that our society would have a bright destiny.
