The speaker claims that through observingpeople's look, dresses, and act, can their attitudes and interests would beunderstood. He/she also claims that the appearance and behavior of people canrepresent the ideas and values of the society. In my point of view, I stronglyagree this claim and actually many people  get to realize a person or a society often by this means.

To begin with, it is undoubted thatpeople's attitudes and interests are easily implied by their dress. when aperson was walking along the street, who wore a loose jean and hoodie, puttingon a hat, we can recognize that it is an amateur of Hip Hop; we can draw aconclusion that those who wear Zhongshan Suit, he is likely to be astick-in-the-mind, also that a lady dressing a cheongsam indicating that she isfond of classify. Meanwhile, to observe a person's look also can gain a sameeffect on his/her interests or attitudes to some one else. If A looks at B witha kind, fond eye, we can get an idea that A is friendly to B; by contrast, if adove-eyed is replaced by a unconcerned one, we can conclude that A may behostile to B. Thus, we can primarily realize people's attitudes and interestsby the way that the speaker asserts.

Moreover, it is true that a society's ideasand values can be discovered by observing its people. The based element tocomponent a society is humans. Humans play an important and positive role toestablish and form their society's values and ideas. For example, it iswell-known that British is the spokesman of gentle and humility so that thefirst impress in Britain we feel is a gentlemanly country; When Japanese meetyou, first they will bow you as an honor. The esteem is a typical values inJapanese society. Similar to Japanese, though China is just a developing country,where its citizens are not wealthy enough to pay a lot of money on their dress,Chinese still dress up when they attend any public situation as an honor andmanners. However, we sometimes fail tocomprehend those who wear uniform cloth and conclude that this is avalue of their society. Actually, it is just a rule enacted by leaders andemployees have to keep. Of course, we are often abused by people who pretend tobehavior under certain occasions. Anyway, as psychologists indicate, the valuesand ideas of a society are influenced to a large extent by its people'sappearance and behavior.

Nevertheless, there are also other variousways to get values and ideas of a society: the law and the policy. By readingthe Constitution of the United States, can we realize that the America is trulyadvocate the freedom and the democracy; the reason why Chinese government adopta policy " reform and opening-up" is that the whole country need acommunication with worldwide countries engaged in economy, culture and so on,in every aspects, which can reflect the society's ideas and values.

In sum, the way people dress and conductcould reveal the attitudes and interests in some extent. Moreover theobservation of people's behavior is one of the efficient approach to find outthat the society advocates. Yet other factors such as the rule and policy, mayinfluence the ideas and so it is not the merely way of acquiring social valuesand ideas.
