Speaking more important
In human’s history, speaking language is, without a doubt, earlier than written language, and by virtue of convenience, easiness and provoking emotional echo, speaking wins its distinctive popularity.
First of all, individuals could vent their feeling more directly, easily, and, of course efficiently when they speak. Speakers could notice their listeners’ response, which helps them decide what to say or what not to say later. And listeners could smile or keep eye contact with their speakers to show that they are keen to this topic. Also, I like the principle to say what they want to say. It makes my life easy and light. Nowadays, with the development of technology, even individuals in the opposite hemisphere could talk face-to-face with each other through the Internet.
In addition, it would save much time for modern citizens to talk face-to-face, irrespective of thinking too much or writing them in paper. With too many written reports to submit, or mountainous mails to return, people feel a great deal of stress. In contrast, if they choose another way, that is speaking directly, to communicate, they may enjoy more comfortable life. In other words, they would slow down their pace, and find more time to enjoy their life – a stream to fish in, a beach to walk on, a mountain to climb up - the list goes on. It is a thrilling experience. This happiness comes from human’s wise choice – to speak it directly rather than write it slowly.
Finally, talking face-to-face creates emotional echo among their group members. people feel close when they communicate face to face because they could speak freely without any restriction. Every comedian knows that people laugh often, and laugh louder and more frequently when others around are also laughing. It has a magic power for audience to follow. For example, Martin Luther King’s speech I Have a Dream once provoked millions of Americans to fight for the freedom of the Black People. Also, friendship can be strengthened when friends gather together and share their happiness together.
By and large, besides convenience and efficiency, speaking skills benefit humans considerably to forge and deepen friendship. |
