[i习作temp] issue50 超越自我小组 第二次作业~~~~ [复制链接]

In order to improve the quality of instruction at the college and university level, all faculty should be required to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach.

Nowadays, there are complaints from the companies and institutions that the graduated students lack the ability to deal with practical problems and their knowledge could seem out of data. Teachers in colleges and universities have the responsibility for such phenomenons.Students need to be guided with a proper attitude towards the academic theories and the applications of them, which calls for the relevant competent teachers. I approve that the connection of professors with the field outside the academic world could actually benefit the teaching issue, but it goes too far if all faculty are required to do so.

To a certain extent, what the academic education service for is the application of it. With the development of human civilization, many field of human activities gain their own experience and techniques. Compared, studied, reflected and ameliorated, these experience and techniques developed into theories. Laws and principles of them are established. However, when the researches reach to a certain stage, some scholars are just too possessed by the study that they miss the necessity of connection of the external world of the research, which is the goal or source of it. Such problems might happen in the field of philosophy, physics and etc. The results of such research would probably be of little value to the applications. Moreover, Without a notice of up-to-date information of applications of practices, scholars might pass on outmode knowledge and place emphasis on misleading points. It is apparent in the field of computer science, as the theories and techniques of it are thriving in a great speed, and it even often happens that students can do better than their teachers because of the tight connection with the latest applications. Therefore, teachers should update their knowledge, and spend time outside the academic world could achieve such purpose.

However, with extra works outside the academy, attentions of the teachers would be draw from the teaching affairs, which might impair the quality of instruction rather than improving it. The available time of a teacher is limited. Take the case of the teachers in my law school as an example. Salaries of teachers are relatively less than to satisfy them and teachers are encouraged to have works as lawyer or judge. However, It often happens that there are conflicts between the schedule of teaching and outside works, and every time the class would have to compromise and be postponed. It is harmful not only to the study of students but to the academic achievements of teachers. The timing of the outside work is hard to control and difficult to arrange. However, one of the successful representatives is that the teachers can work as a counsellor. As far as I am concerned, there are many teachers in the business school apply such strategy.Geting in touch with the newest information and situation, professors can provide suggestions with their profound knowledge, and then update their instructive materials back in the school. And their working schedule as consellor is flexible, with mo harm to the academic works. Therefore, working outside should be based on the premise that the academic works are handled properly.

Moreover, there is no necessity that all faculty should work outside. There are different types of teachers and different types of courses. It may seem to be a waste of time for those who are expert at staying in the lab and doing research to go outside. And there are courses that are in shortage of the teachers ,who don’t have any spare time to do extra works. The assertion that all should go out is too rigid for the modern diverse education system.

To conclude, the advice of the topic is roughly instructive, but lacks further study to find out an adequate way to improve the quality of instruction. Just like keeping all faculty in the ivory tower is extreme and inadequate, driving all of them out also needs a second consideration.

1、文章正文部分不错,但是开头结尾稍逊。。这样不容易吸引判卷人眼球。。注意改善下~
2、你好像是+/-再提出自己的建议,把建议另起一段写更好
3、注意正确使用连接词
4、文章禁得起仔细看。。但是略看显不出优势。。你要是真3分rescore一下说不定有惊喜
