Can humanlity(humanity) always benefit from the investment on research money even the consequence of that research is controversial? It is compelling to agree with the author, anyway explore is the spirit and belief of human beings. However, the moral codes and laws which are the prerequisites of the society are ignored.

Generally speaking, the research with unknown result in any field deserves support. What the study aims is to explore the unknown things and therefore reach some results no matter the positive or negative one to some extent. For instance, the research in atom energy, when a large number of funds had been invested and the physics researchers discovered as well as controlled this kind of huge energy, government quickly applied it to the wars and thousands of innocent(innocent) people suffered from the shadow caused by the nuclear weapons. However, the nuclear technology which can play an indispensable role in producing electricity and other fields also propel the preservation of the limited resources. The benefit and costs about this technology cannot be evaluated by people in a nutshell and admittedly it is the process of the development of human beings.

Furthermore, the controversial result is propitious(propitious) to people's further study that can achieve the truth as well as contribute to the development of the society. The string theory is a case in point. When the quarrel about the quantum theory and theory of relativity cannot be stopped in physical field, the further study brought out the string theory which can explain the existent phenomenon better and become the basis of other researches in many fields. Undoubtly, the controversial results of the research provided the more inspiration to researchers and cited their resolutions to achieve the truth.

However, it is the moral and laws regulate the whole world which the research should comply with. If the potential result of the research contradicted the moral code and laws, patronizing this research is just wasting the money of taxpayers and consequently disturb the common life of people. Consider the embryonic stem cell research which is considered may damage the normal cell of human beings and cause the problems in ethic. Though the scientists insisted the positive result that alleviate the pain of the patients suffering from the pain of many kinds of diseases, many countries still stopped the support and prohibited this research due to the negative effects. In short, the research should obey certain standards and prevent from the damage to the normal social order in moral.

All in all, people generally can reap a boutiful(bountiful) harvest from the investment in research. However, the research must comply with the laws as well as moral code, only in this sense the result of research has its values and meaning which be expected by humanity.
