New leadership, as modern people talk about, has always means hope and reform. In the ancient periods, the leadership of China seldom changed, but when it did so, some break through may happen, yet always cooperate with the challenge of the stability. Change, no matter what it is, is unavoidable. So the question rises, should we change leadership regularly to ensure success?
New leadership, as it is different from the old one, has corrected many mistakes from the former, and then makes a break through. As the old Chinese proverb says, the man who watches the accident has a more clear view than who is in the accident. It is not surprise that every leader has his/her own faults, which can not be replaced by himself/herself. The later one has already seen the mistake and can have enough time to analyze it, and finally solve the problem. New leader is usually younger to the former. So what is young means to a leader? It could be inexperienced, but the key is that this young leader can bring new concepts about the enterprise. The creativity, which is often made by the young, has its great power to make the enterprise to go further and quicker.
However, in some aspects new leadership has caused turbulence. Everyone in the enterprise has his/her special jobs, which is different from others. The former one has already founded a whole system of how to deal with the case of everyday, and also trained someone who is specialized on the case. But when the new leader controls the enterprise, the system breaks. As new as he is, the leader can not know exactly the detail of everyday work, and the personality of the staff and how they handled the former work. Then it comes to a terrible case that the staff has to leave the job they are good at, and go to the new place, and spend much time to familiarize it. What is worse, the new leader is inclined to employ new ones to take place of the old, which means even the old one deals with things better than the new one, he/she has to leave the company because he/she is the staff of the former leader.
In order to make the whole enterprise success, the years of the period that the leader should be stepped down should be carefully studied. For example, in factories the period of step down could be longer. For factories, technique is essential, and to train someone is easy to handle, yet give someone experiences must take a longtime. If the leader frequently changed, he/she may be not know the stuff well, but simply switch the stuff to a new place, which could take the worker month of familiarize, and the experience of old place becomes nothing at all. For politics, five year is exactly the period of political environment, and it is a great chance to make new politics and put someone new into the politics.
In conclusion, we should make the period of step down of leadership analyzed in different of fields. Some enterprises require the periods longer, while others need shorter periods. Only through this, can we finally ensure the success of enterprise. |
