Governments should spend more money in support of arts than in support of athletics such as state-sponsored Olympic teams？

Every year governments spend money in support of some projects in our society, including arts and athletics. Due to their different experiences and backgrounds, people have different opinions regarding whether governments should spend more money in support of arts than in support of athletics. As a student, I believe that governments should seek a balance between in support of arts and athletics when spending money.

Supporting arts is very important for the development of a society. With the improvement of people's living level, people are pursuing the sense of happiness. Arts, which can bring the senses of beauty and happiness, give many emotional experiences. For example, people may have a feeling of happiness from a song with a quick rhythm. Also, people who are frustrated become brave when they listen to the song "Ying xing de shi bang" which encourages people to overcome difficulties. In addition, arts as parts of culture should be supported.

However, that does not meant government should spend more money in support of arts than in support of athletics. Athletics are important as well as arts. Supporting athletics advances relationships among different countries, like Olympic Games. A country opens a window in cultures to the world by holding Olympics, that is one of reasons why Olympics is held in different countries every four years. In addition, people can learn how to cooperate with others in some athletic games such as football game and basketball game. What is more, supporting athletics is beneficial to improve the level of people's health. By supplying more athletic facilities, governments can encourage people to do more exercises and build strong bodies. All in all, supporting athletics is very important for governments.

Therefore, governments should seek a balance between in support of arts and athletics when spending money. Overly stressing either of them is not reasonable. If governments spend more money on arts, it might lead people to neglect the importance of athletics, which might give rise to the weakness of people's bodies. If governments spend more money on athletics, the development of cultures of one country might be blocked.

In conclusion, both arts and athletics are parts of people's lives. Government should seek a balance between in support of arts and athletics when spending money.
