Is it better to use own knowledge and experience to solve problems or ask other people for advice? Different people may respond to this question variously according to their own characters, personal experiences and even educational levels. However, as far as I'm concerned, both the two ways of solving problems have their advantages and disadvantages, thus, we should combine these two methods in solving problems.

On the one hand, to solve problems by using one's own knowledge and experience has some advantages and disadvantages. The advantage is that people may become independent by this way and independence is always regarded as a merit for an individual. For instance, when students meet problems in their study, they should try to solve them by themselves using what they have been taught by their teachers. And by this way, they can not only review what they have learned, and enjoy the process of solving a problem. However, sometimes some problems are too hard for some people to solve, and under these circumstances, people should ask some experts in order to avoid wasting time.

On the other hand, asking people for help also has its positive and negative effects. The positive effect is that it can save time for people if they ask some professional persons for advice. Because we can't be experts in every field, and if we face the problems in a strange field, it is wise to ask experts for help. For example, not each one of us know the knowledge of medicine, so if we feel uncomfortable in some part of our body, we'd better go to see the doctor. Nevertheless, always asking people for help may lead to the dependence of people and they will be reluctant to solve problems by themselves.

Taking into consideration all the aspects discussed above, we can reach the conclusion that both solving problems by oneself and by asking people have some positive and negative effects. Therefore, we should combine the two methods of solving problems that is we should first try to solve the problem by ourselves, and if it can't be solved by us, we should ask some experts for help.
