Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Drivers should pay a fee to be allowed to drive on the city streets during the time when there is the greatest amount of traffic. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer

Traffic jam has long been a problem haunting big cities around the world. It is common to see cars standing in long lines on streets during rush hours. Some people, afflicted by this annoyance, come up with the idea to charge drivers  during traffic jams. Easy and plausible as this suggestion may seem, however, I do not think this advice can kick in for the following reasons.

First of all, in order to solve this problem, we have to see why it happens. Surely, increasing autocycles or cars have contributed to those jams. But in fact, the fixed time schedule, as I see it, is the profound factor. Nobody finds it a pleasure to be stuck on the road when they are in a hurry feeding their children at home or preparing meals for families. It is, for most us,the fixed time——five o'clock——at which point we can be free from work that cause the jams. If only different companies let their employees off work at different time, things will be a whole lot better. In this way, everyone will be happy about the speed and comfort getting home in their vehicles.

Moreover, there is such a diversity of vehicles people take: cars, buses, autocycles, to name a few. Obviously, different vehicles do not have the same impact on the traffic jams and environment pollution. If the idea was put into reality, how could the government charge different drivers for the their "contribution" to the traffic jams? By the space a vehicle takes, or the number of people a vehicle can hold? Criterion would vary, since each group of people would fancy the policy benefits them most.

Considering the two problems with this idea, we may reluctantly come to the conclusion that it is not practical. However, this does not necessarily means we can do nothing to solve this problem. With more flexible schedules of different companies and commonly agreed criterion, we may find it a pleasure to drive home during rush hours.

总体感觉挺不错的,就是有一点,那个前面说了这个提议行不通,然后最后一段那个we reluctantly come to这个和前面好像有点矛盾。别的我觉得没什么了。呵呵
