With the development of science and technology, nearly all of the families have at least a television. Many people think it is a good way to study through TV because it gives us a direct expression of the knowledge we want to know. On the other hand, many people still think books are our best teachers. Considering about the advantages of two different kind of learning, I hold the opinion that reading books is a better way of studying.

First of all, what showed in the TV sets sometimes is another way of telling people the things from books. From my point of view, books give us the knowledge which is in detail and has a general idea. From a book, we can know the details and can repeat them again and again until we have a clear idea of them. If we are eager to get the information, books are the first choice since we don’t know when the television will broadcast the important message.
Also, paper has been existed for thousands of years. Our ancients wrote down the knowledge in the paper and passed it to their offspring. It is the way that people in the past obtained the knowledge. We can take them with us because it is easy to carry with. We can study when we are in the buses, subways or other places. What a disaster it will be if nobody is willing to learn through a book.
It is true that TV brings us a lot of convenience such as we can learn by happiness and relax. For instance, if we want to know something about New York, we can see how a New Yorker works, enjoys his life and so on while books can only give us a space to image how they will live which may not the truth. But it has several drawbacks. For example, young people who can not control themselves well will spend lots of their time watching the program which is useless to them. And if people watch TV too long, their eyesight properly falls down because of the X-ray sent by the television.

In general, convenience though TV brings to us, it can not compare with the advantage which books bring. I would thank the person who created books and gave us such great wealth. That’s why I strongly fight for the idea that people should learn the knowledge with the books they have.
