Should teachers be paid according to their students' performances? Different people may response to this question variously from their own experiences and educational levels. However, as far as I'm concerned, I agree with the statement that teachers should be paid on the base of the performances of their students. This will be beneficial to not only the students but also the teachers.

To begin with, paying different salaries to teachers on the basis of the performance of their students will make teachers more care about the students. As is known to us all, some students like playing and don't pay enough attention to their study, and their grades are sometimes quite low. Under such a circumstance, if the teachers failed to help them to concentrate on study, they will probably lag behind other students. On the contrary, if the teachers’ salaries are associated with the students' performances, then the teachers will pay more attention to these low-grade students. Thus, such method can make teachers care more about their students.

Furthermore, teachers will be forced to update their knowledge and teaching methods if they will be paid differently according to the performance of their students. In order to improve the performances of the students, the teachers have to renew their knowledge and teaching methods, so that the teachers will be more qualified. On the contrary, if teachers are paid equally no matter what the students' performances are, teachers will not be so motivated to improve their knowledge and teaching methods. Thus, such kind of paying can improve teachers' quality.

To sum up, if teachers' salaries are associated with the performances of their students, both the teachers' quality and the students will be improved.
