In contemporary society, numerous linguists claim that many of the world's distinct and lesser-known languages are being disappeared because fewer and fewer citizens tend to speak them. I fully sanction that the impact of the lesser-known languages have positive on many aspects, such as individuals' identity, culture and economics .On the other hand, it is unnecessary that the governments of countries have mandatory obligations to prevent such languages from becoming extinct and a multitude number of languages in the world might set into a chain of commotions in the world.
It is evidently that almost every language plays a significant role in
Individuals' identity of all walk at the lesser-known languages would help foster unique communities s of the life, and especially the less-known languages. What is meant by this is that the residents who speak the same languages would be gathered for this case. Furthermore, after the development of the specious groups, citizens could recognize their own status and strategies in the communities easily which promotes their cognitive minds and patriot. Consquencely, it seems to be reasonable that the continents of the world divide into different countries, different regions and different communities.
In terms of the unique culture, the lesser-known languages carry tremendous gem of the communities' originality culture. Therefore, by learning the traditions, mores and beliefs of the communities' culture, a sense of dignity, pride and self-worth can be founded in residents' minds which is heighten great influence on the lifetime of people. What's more, speaking the lesser-known language has a direct correlation with the reservation of the cultural heritages from ancestors. Consider, for instance, it is universally known that Chinese people in different regions in China speak different dialects, like Cantonese. These dialects---lesser known languages stem from different parts of Chinese citizens and the main result from it is that the customs in a particular region are not alike any others .Another example----in Canada, the French Canadians would like to speak French tenaciously as their official language instead of English for the purpose to protect their originality culture.
The next is the interests of economy of countries. Such lesser-known languages are mysterious which can fascinate other language-speaking person and stimulate their desires to learn and understand these languages. Over the same period, what will happen is that quantities of people tend to learn a language in its originality environment which could attract much attention to the country and finally will promote the rapid growth of the economy by the prosperous tourism and educational industry.
Notwithstanding, even if the governments of the countries have responsibilities to protect the extinct languages, many of the worlds' lesser-known languages which are being lost is inevitable. Moreover, the governors should prefer to utilize many precious resources and equipments in society's welfares and pressing problems rather than the reservation of a lesser-know language. Similarly, with the rapid urbanization occurring everywhere, language barriers become the most stunts in the communication and commerce in the world. The United Nations regards French and English as its official languages so as to diminishing the barriers between the members in the organization as well as in the EU and OPEC. What is worthy mentioned is that languages can set into a chain of commotions, like wars and discord between different countries for the misunderstanding about languages. After all, the governments should take proper measures to protect those distinct and unique languages.
In sum, on the one hand, it is beneficial for residents to maintain the originality and distinct culture and communities by protecting many of indigenous languages, in addition, the economy of countries can be accelerated and promoted positively. However, because of some conundrums about languages in real world, the government should deal with their pressing responsibilities and the protection of lesser-known languages. |
