The speaker holds that the chief value lies in the study of history is to break down the illusion that people have changed through history. I agree with the part people are different from one period of time to another. As the breadth and depth of the civilization, people have changed a lot from several perspectives, like thinking methods, outlook of world and life, even the lifespan of a normal being. However, the arguer over generalizes the features we suppose to discuss about people. It's irresponsible to say people are different as time passing by. In my opinion, the nature, rather than nurture, remains the same among the human races. What's more, the speaker overlooks other consequential functions of the study of history, like learning from mistakes and failures, learning to respect nature law, learning to appreciate arts, etc.(红字部分都应该删除)
As we know, genetic features and the
post-natal environment play an equal role in the shaping of one’s characteristic. Respectively, the former echoes with the human nature, while the latter coheres with history by which I mean the stories people are experiencing, including the big events or house chores in a certain historical context. Take the scale and convention of family as an example. The current social circumstance cannot escape from a description of high-speed and information explosion which unnoticeably and significantly reduce the size of family and the traditional way of dwelling. Millions of dink families which refer to a family with double income but no kids, spring up quickly. The main reason people are changing is that they are experiencing a history which is seeing the flashing development of economy. This case shows that people may change because of the post-natal nurture.
What's remains the same, as far as I am concerned, is the basic human needs and motives, fears and weakness, etc. The model I want to cite is the Maslow's hierarchy of needs which is a classic and valuable model surviving from the trail through time. The five needs are physiological, safety, social, esteem and self-actualization. It can apply to every human community or society which passed repeated tests and proven right. As long as a person is a participant in a community, he follows this distinguished hierarchy of needs. Accordingly, the basic human nature remains the same whether the social context changes or not.
In addition, the speaker neglects a lot of other significant functions of history besides the function of breaking down fallacious illusions. History teaches us more than that. We can learn about history's great espiers, leaders, winners whose ideas of becoming successful are of crucial value. Those epoch-making people can guide us to similar achievements. At the same time, history warns us with those mistakes having been made in history which can help us not to astray in the pursuit of success. Also, history teaches us to learn to recognize our identity and appreciate our cultural heritage which serves to enrich society.
To sum up, while people are changing their attitudes and outlooks due to post-natal nurture, the basic human nature, including needs and expectations, fears and defects, remains constant. Moreover, the multifunction of history can not be unfairly generalized to the breaking of illusion, it serves as a committed instructor who teaches us with its own ups and downs.
论点:人在社会性是不同历史时期是不同的,在自然属性上是相同的。同时作者忽略了历史研究的其它方面的作用。
论证:
1.基因和后天培养起到同等重要的作用。这段主要讲不同时期人是不同的。引用了社会对家庭成员个数的影响,举丁克家庭为例
2.讲人类的需求并没有变化,举例为马斯洛理论
3.作者忽略了历史很多作用,例如伟大人士教导我们成功秘诀,历史灾难警醒我们不要重蹈覆辙,历史教导我们要学习文化遗产
总体来说逻辑连贯,但是自然段内的语意不尽完善
开头段太长,重复意思的话太多,第一段应该重写
第一段展开第一句应该直接点出,人类不断发展,任何时代各不相同,然后再引用例子或者理论论证,现在的开头太绕了
第二段中规中矩,问题在于马斯洛理论属于理论论证范畴,应该举例子说明,古代用木头棍子穿鱼肉烤着吃,现在用微波炉烤着吃,看似不同实则相同,满足口腹之欲耳。
