TOPIC: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Young people should try several different jobs before they take a long term career.

As mass of graduates move into the job market each year, the discussion over job choosing is continuing. Should young people try several diverse jobs before their life long career? The opinions vary among different people; however, in my point of view, young people ought to taste different jobs.

Admittedly, if a youngster fix himself into a certain job immediately after his graduation, especially the job that related to his major; then the youngster may be excel in what he is working for and become an expert of that field. Consider the workers employed in the manufactory of Swiss Army knife for example, they themselves or even their following generations will work for the company for a whole life without changing a job. This is probably the reason for the high quality multifunctional knife.

However, the pattern above is not suitable for most people since no companies are able to guarantee that they will employ you for a whole life or they will not suffer bankruptcy. Therefore, trying different jobs should become a reasonable choice for young people since they are more energetic and more acceptable to new things than mid-aged or other elderly persons. Different jobs may involve completely new frontiers that full of opportunities and dangers. Taking adventure is the one of the characteristics of the young; regardless of whether they succeed or fail, the price will not be very heavy since they are young.

Moreover, through different job experiences, youngsters can find out their most interested and most proper jobs in which they can behave best to be their life-long career. Interest is the best teacher and stimulation. With interest, workers will strive to do their job better voluntarily. But the first task is to make them realize which kind of jobs is their fondness. Various job experiences can tell.

In addition, diverse job experiences broaden youngsters’ mind that it becomes easier for them if their life long career is associated with other fields. Also, different job experiences can help people survive and find another job easier when they encounter layoffs in the original company.

To sum up, if you are a young man, just try different jobs to improve your capacity and figure out your favorite career then devote yourself to the long term career.

这，这， out of my control. 我不知道怎么改，可以当我的范文了。非常感谢你对我的文章的修改。可是，无以为报，改你的文章的确超出我的能力范围了。


这里只提两个疑问以供商榷：

1.第三段中 since no companies 是不是太绝对了，与上段中瑞士军刀工厂有冲突。或可改为 hardly companies 或 on other companies else

2.同一段中 ... they will employ you for a whole life...   整篇文章都是很客观的语气，这里是不是用one代替you好些，同理，最后一段if you are ...是否改为 as a young man.



另，真心请教学习作文的方法， 或者有什么书可以推荐的。我现在自己完全没有头绪，只是在硬憋，这已经是我的第五篇作文了，几乎每篇都要花几个小时时间。东抄一段，西抄一段，感觉没什么提高，真像在浪费时间。

Newspapers and magazines are usually telling us the recent events and affairs happened in their countries. But I case doubt on the statement that they are the best ways to learn about a foreign country. Media may also mislead people, especially in some suppressed countries.

It is undeniable that newspapers and magazines represent certain aspects of the politics, economy, culture and so on of a state. Sometimes it may be a better access even than the self-experience in the foreign country because some statistic data and comments printed on the print media consider the country as a whole. You may know the average levels instead of certain individuals which are not representative. In short, newspapers and magazines are windows of a foreign country.

However, the media may also be subjective and belie the truth. The situation may not be so severe in a democratic country where the media are allowed free to talk. While in some oppressed countries, you can only read the decorated information in mainstream media or other ones. Governments usually suppress their media industry that they can only talk the eulogy of their countries and rulers; and you will never be able to know the dark side of the Moon.

Moreover, the news or stories printed in magazines or newspapers are those fresh and unordinary events happen in their countries. It is difficult to read the common lifestyles of their populace in their countries through media. You don't know what their favorite foods are, what the institutional customs of their nation are, the way people think and suchlike things. Also, we can misinterpret the meaning of reports for we have a different way of thinking.

In my opinion, to better understand a foreign country, we had better travel there or even live there for a period, talking with local residents and observe their behaviors by ourselves.

To sum up, magazines or newspapers are just a window but not the optimum choice to know about foreign countries. And the media information printed in democratic countries is more reliable than that in suppressed countries.

As we know, the schoolwork in university is quite heavy that students need to concentrate their energy on it. Then some assert that students should not spend time on anything unrelated to their study such as part-time jobs. On the other hand, some approve of taking part-time jobs in their spare time. In my view, I oppose the statement of not taking job in several respects.

To begin with, the assumption that schoolwork is too heavy to do anything else is ungrounded. As a matter of fact, it is a common phenomenon some students would like to spend much time on Internet-based games in university. Consider, if there were no accesses to part-time jobs, more college students would have addicted in computer games in their leisure time, which is a waste of time and money. Furthermore, except computer games, numerous distractions such as drug, obscene books and suchlike things can also drive away students’ attention.

Moreover, part-time jobs can provide students with money. Since the tuition of college is high that not every family can afford, the income from part-time job will lessen the burden of certain students who are short of money or have taken a loan for tuition. Given the part-time job is forbidden, there will be highly likelihood that plenty of high school graduates would abandon the opportunities to enter college.

In addition, the experience of part-time job supply students some working experience which is beneficial for their future career. Students with working experience are more competitive in hunting a job. They also better know which sorts of jobs they have a genuine fascination, a passion or an interest in for they have tasted different kinds of work-study jobs during their college.

To sum up, the advantages of part-time jobs far overweigh the disadvantages. Study-work job is the aid of students from unaffluent family and also bring those job takers more work experience. Therefore, rather than oppose part-time jobs, I greatly agree that college students take some work-study jobs.
