     The graduate program in Chemistry at Purdue has now completed our offers for new students entering in Fall 2017. I am sorry to inform you that you were not selected. Your application now resides in a waiting list. Our deadline for a response to the offers we’ve already made is April 14, 2017. At that time, if there are any remaining openings, we will sort through the waiting list to see if anyone is still seeking a position for Fall 2017.
     We appreciate your interest in our program and thank you for the opportunity to review your file. Our faculty read almost 800 applications that were received by the December 15 priority date, or shortly thereafter.  The number of openings available for new graduate students were considerably less . While it is natural to wonder why you didn’t get an offer, we have no way of answering that question for you.
     I am sorry to share this disappointing news and hope that another opportunity will come your way soon. We will reopen applications for the Fall 2018 admission in September, 2017.

今年中文论坛上还没见到报Umass的呢，还能再等等。

謝謝!!  不過老實說Akron最近走了一位steven chang大牛，好多老師轉到bio material，我還有點糾結呢？ 畢竟bio不是我的興趣..

厉害的导师还有很多的吧，今天刚看到一个好朋友facebook上转发akron的新闻，一位老师发了PANS：Entropy-driven segregation of polymer-grafted nanoparticles under confinement。然后他以前的导师是 Bryan D. Vogt，看着也蛮厉害的。是个很好的去处吧

Bryan D. Vogt應該是 polymer engineering的，我錄的是polymer science，就是不知道可不可以跨組選導師
