The speaker suggest that the way to rise level of the professors’ quality of instruction should let them pay attention to the courses that except their own academic. The statement I agree with it partially, the professors should have widely knowledge, however, if the college and university’s scholar use too many time on outside the academic world research it would have disadvantage to their basic area because of people’s experience is limit.

First of all, in college and university the professor should have widely knowledge so that they have more experience and academia on teaching their students. If the teacher only talking with their graduates something that everyone can find out in the notebook and textbook, the attractive of them would decrease with the time going on. To expand the areas of the professors’ academic not only making the class attractively also has another advantage that the quality of the course would be rising up. For instance, in my university the course of the Experience of Advertising has more attractively than the Theory of Advertising due to the different the professors could give the different knowledge for us. In the course of Experience of Advertising, the teacher always gave some reality cases and knowledge of another area such as the Accounting to explain how to make a useful advertising and how to make it successful. All of the learners in the class felt that the course is more useful than the theory. So the professors spend time on the another areas have important role in the education.

Furthermore, the energy of one person is limit and he cannot be the superman that has both widely and deeply academic knowledge in too many areas. The theory is also useful in the college and university’s professor, they have huge work to do everyday such as to finish his own duty to teaching and do the research and experiment on their basic academia. Most of them make their best to research their own area deeper and deeper so that the time and efforts of them remain little. How could they to expand the areas of another area of outside academic? If they spend more time and vigor in another area it could be influence their basic area and even the quality of the course would decline. Such as the fisher cannot pay too much attention in another thing except his fishing, or both of things would be defeated.

In final, the professor should put their most vigorous and time on their own academic and do their best to make it deeper and deeper. The professor who have profound specialty is more attractively and prestigiously than the common one. It is not difficult to improve that theory, people could find out the most outstanding professors are have great contribution to their own area, such as Beethoven and Mozart, the most excellence musicians in the world. They put they all energy into the career of music, except another area such as math, chemical and so forth.
In conclusion, in my opinion the professors should at first put their most vigorous on the academic of their own, if they have more energy and time, they could expand their areas to enlarge the range of another knowledge that have good advantages in making their course more attractively and interesting.
