Because of television and worldwide computer connections, people can now become familiar with a great many places that they have never visited. As a result, tourism will soon become obsolete.

The speaker asserts that people can now visit a great many places without leaving their room through television and Internet and television and Internet will render tourism obsolete. I agree that  television and Internet actually is an convenient way for people to become familiar with a lot of places which people have never visited. However, I strongly disagree with the fact that television and Internet  will render tourism obsolete.

In the first place, there is no doubt that television and Internet have provided people unprecedented empirical opportunity to learn a great many places that without ever stepping out of their rooms.  As we all know, we can believe that a person can know many places all over the word, but we are doubt for the fact that person have been visited all the place by himself. For example, I believe most people in the word know the place--Guilin, which is famous for beautifual scene, but most of them must have not been to Guilin. And how they are familiar with Guilin? I empirically consider that most of them must got the information of Guilin through televison and Internet. Therefore, if there are not developping technology of televison and Internet, many people would lose many chance to visit a place where they have never reached.

In the second place, as for the claim that televison and Internet will render tourism obsolete, we have sufficent empirical evidence that it will not happen. Although televison and Internet have taken an important role to help people learn a place without needing to leave their place, people will more likely to visit a place for themselves because  travelling by televison and Internet is a negative process but tourism by themselves is a positive process. Through televison and Internet , people can only get some information which the authores want to display to the audiences but not all the culture, history, and custom of those places. Hence, if you have enough time and enough money, tourism is really a good way to reach different knowledge of different place.

In the third place, televison and Internet can have actually served to spark people`s interest to visit other places. It is true that people have spent a lot of time on televison and Internet and get many news about tourism everyday. At the same time, it is televison and Internet that cause people`s curiosity of those news and stimulate them to plan to have a tourism on that place. If there are no introduction of televison and Internet for those travelling land, there will no many tourists to visit them every year.

Finally, tourism is a good way to build up physical strength and relax mood. When people leave those place where they are familiar with and get to a strange place, those sadness, unpleasant thing and boring thing which ever seriously disturb them will leave them too.In the world, many people who tour not only want to visit the  famous land but also want to relax themselves from the family pressure, working pressure and even motional pressure. Certainlly, through the tourism, people will make their body heathy.

In conclusion, there are still several evidences to support foregoing point, unfortunately, I have no time to illustrate in detail. But what I have discussed above should well demonstrate my claim that people can now visit a great many places without leaving their room through television and Internet and television and Internet will not render tourism obsolete.
