83. "Government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people."
政府应该保留国家领土中公共拥有的荒凉地区，即使这些地区往往人迹罕至。

态度：肯定

1．  从保护环境的角度看，这种做法是绝对正确的。首先，随着人类的发展和大都市的扩张，凡是人类文明所到之处的自然地区都面目全非，遍体鳞伤。人类的发展给自然界带来的是毁灭性的打击。（滥砍滥伐，捕杀动物，排放污染物…）所以尽量的保护还未曾被污染的净土是人类的责任和义务，也是政府应该放置于重要地位的政策。
2．  从经济学角度来讲，保留那些公共荒地也是必要的 。目前，由于科学技术的滞后，地球上很多野生动物和自然资源的利用价值都还未被完全揭开和开发。如果无止境的开发掉现有的所有地区，那么等到物种灭绝后，我们还没有发现那些有价值的东西，这也违背人类持续性发展的战略目标。所以尽可能的保留那些处女地和保护那里的野生动物，可以为以后保留巨大的财富和资源。

With the world’s population increasing and the human society developing faster and faster, more and more wilderness areas are exploited by human beings. The speaker claim that preserving public owned wilderness areas in the natural state even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people is the government’s duty. In my point of view, considering the necessity of this suggestion, I strongly agree with the author.

In the first place, preserving the publicly owned wilderness areas is absolutely a wise choice, from the angle of protecting natural environment and ecosystem balance. On one hand, as the development of human society and global industrialization continuously happened thousands of years, places where the human civilization arrives are all out of shape and beaten black and blue. The development of human world brings the natural world not only great influence but also fatal strike. Wide deforestation, hunting animals, air and water pollution, etc. all of them cause the environment worse and worse, the wildness land less and less. Because our human beings should take the chief responsibility of these, suggesting the government to preserve the scanty pure areas is our obligation and duty. And governments should put this issue into an extremely important place of policy.

In the second place, the serenity of those maiden areas should not be broken either, as both the economic and living value is vital to us. First, most of the virgin places are wonders of natural scene and have great potential value in tourisms. Preserving their original appearance and developing travel advantages will kill two birds with one arrow. In another word, it could not only preserve the natural scene and wild animals but also exert their economic value. Besides, those places are habitats of many wild animals that will probably be extinct if we exploit these places. Accelerating the extinction of the wild species will threaten the survival of human beings greatly, as we know. From that aspect, preserving the wildness areas is right or even necessary choice.

All in all, exploitation of remain wildness areas is obviously a stupid idea to increase the space of human activity. The feasible ways to create more space for people to use are increasing the utilization rate of current areas, controlling the birth rate and exploiting the outer space areas. But the remain wildness lands should certainly be preserved and protected by governments.
