The speaker asserts that society should place more emphasis on the intellect, such as reasoning and other cognitive skills. While I concede the importance of intellect in the technology-driven society, we have already stressed it too much and somewhat neglected other natures of human beings.

To begin with, intellect plays a significant role in the development of society.

Due to the significance of intellect, modern society has already put enough emphasis on it. The educational system may be a perfect example: Children learn mathematics, which is purely based on reason and logic thinking, since their first day entering school; when going to high school, they are taught other subjects such as physics and chemistry, which, to some extent, apply mathematics as a tool to solve problems; after entering college, they begin to be instilled critical thinking by philosophy, which supplements their knowledge system of reasoning. Aside from technical skills, every educated man also develops his own system of reasoning, cognitive skills, and critical thinking, upon which he depends to survive in the technology-based society where advances continue to accelerate day by day. Only when he masters such "intellect" does he fit for the society where knowledge and skills are obsolete so quickly and he has to refresh himself with such intellect.

However, when society drives man to stress his intellective ability, it somewhat ignores other natures that every human being should hold, such as emotions and moralities. There is no denying the fact that highly modernization and industrialization gradually deprive human being of emotions. With great burdens of life in modern society, people compete for limited resources and work hard to get promoted by intellect, lost themselves in the forest of modern society, emotionlessly. Furthermore, as Martin.L.King has once said: "The most dangerous criminal may be the man gifted with reason, but no morals", we have now come to realize how much ponderance we have exerted on emphasizing the moral problems, when our executives are blind to fairness and equity, doctors are proficient at surgery without professional morals, and expert computer programmers invite deleterious virus in the internet.

In sum, when modern society thrives by technology which is based on human intellect,  emotions and moralities should receive equal recognition and praise as intellect from society .

综观全文，文笔很流畅。总体思路很明确，细节上可能还稍稍需要修饰。再接再厉~~：）
