Some people thinkthat parents should teach children how to be good members of society. Others,however, believe that school is the place to learn this.
Discuss boththese views and give your own opinion.


Todayit is undeniable educating the next generation to be an able member of societyis a pressing priority. So, who should be the one to complete this job is beingconsidered.


Parentis the most suitable choice to some extent. In most cases, father or mother isundoubtedly the first person the child can recognize and then becomes theprimary educator to the child. Under this situation, I believe young would beeasier and more convenient to influenced by their parents. Also, only throughparent can a youngster be taught to be something what they want him to be.


However,some people argue that school is a more appropriate field where can produceoutstanding talents of society. Why they think so is largely due to the circumstanceat school. Living with classmates and teachers can not only hone their co-operativeand competitive skill needed in the future, but may also increase the resourcesthey can draw on in the later society.





Personally,in order to create a remarkable new generation, teaching them both psychologicallyand physically is necessary. In other words, family and school are not mutuallyexclusive to finish this task. Parents do need to monitor the behaviors ofchildren by communicating with teachers when the children are sent into school,as they actually have no idea about their actions. In contrast, guiders atschool also necessarily keep track of the students when they are at homethrough communication between parents and teachers. By this approach educatorsknow what the young think and then teach them effectively.


Consequently,education of parents and school together should be encouraged to produce activeand productive members of society.

As increasing number of people have put emphasis on children’s education. Consequently, there has provoked spirited debate about which parts of society should teach children to be good members, parents or schools.

Some people believe it is parents’ duty to teach children being good members. Parents give birth to their children. No one can replace their positions. As parents have difference experiences in society, it is relatively easier for them to distinguish the condition whether it is good or bad. They just teach them by personal examples as well as verbal instructions which are more effective than others. It is wildly accepted that parents are the first teachers in children’s lives. If parents teach them appropriately, children are influenced by what constantly see and hear. This part of teaching is learned unconsciously simply by growing up in a family. Children can avoid faults which have happened in their parents and be good members by steps.


However, others consider school as the best place for children to learn this. Children spend most time studying and playing in school. Teachers can find drawbacks easily among the same age peers so that they can combine drawbacks and demonstrate them in class in order to eliminate the bad behaviors. As we all know that children like simulating their friend’s behaviors. Provided that we help them correct the impolite behaviors immediately, they may be influenced by each other. Also their friends can tell them what is wrong, which has been pointed out by teachers.


Personally, I reckon that both sides should make efforts to teach children how to be good members of society. Schools teach how to cooperate with each other while parents can teach how to respect, obey the rules and share values at home. Just concentrating on one side is not enough. Children’s education cannot be separated just like we cannot like without oxygen.
