TOPIC: Some people believe that students who want to go to university after graduation from high school should have about one year's time to get a job to obtain work esperience or have a travel to enlarge their vision. Do you agree or disagree? What's your opinion? In most countries, students directly go to unicversity after their high school education. However, there are some people think that students should spend about one-year time to get a job or have a travel before stepping in university campus. They believe that, by this way, students could gain work experience and their sights can be enlarged. In my opinion, this is such a constructive suggestion, and students should be able to benifit from it in long run. First of all, via exposing to the reality, students will be able to find out that what the society needs. As a result, they can adjust their further study direction according to the demands of society. For example, some students, who usually onle focus on their proffessional and theoratical knowledge, will ealise that communicating skill, innovative method, team work spirit and leadership are very essential in real world as well. In consequence, instead of solely building up theoratical knowledge, they will try to develop overall abilities, at the end, to be a overall developed talent. Moreover, through this one year experience, they may change their plan for the future life, as they find out their real interets. For instance, some students might have a dream to be a doctor when they were young, while they had no idea of doctors’ daily work and responsibilities. After this one-year social exposure, some of them may realise that they do not like to take doctors’ responsibilities or do doctors’ duty at all, instead, they like architecque more. In this case, if have the chance, they could change faculty before starting their university study, and this will prevent them entering wrong career pathway. Yet, some people argue that working and traveling are too relaxing, so after one-year exciting wxperience outside campus, students might not be able to concentrate on their studies. It’s true to some extent, but I believe that whether a student could concentrate on his study is depend on his personality and study habit. If a student have a clear goal and good study habit, no matter what he had went through, he will still focus on his study once back to school. In conclusion, I think one-year outside campus experience will make students find out the real demands of society and their real interets, which will benefit them a lot in their future study. And not really will distract them from focusing on study. So, I think that high school graduates should go for one-year work or travel if they have the chance to do so. |
