Agree ordisagree? If children want to do well in school, parents should limit the hoursof watching TV programs or movies

In the developing society, parents care more about how their childrenperform at school, where the controversy lies that whether parents should limittheir children’s entertainment time of watching TVs and movies or not. In myopinion, limiting of the TV-time is necessary. Although watching as many TVsand movies as they want children may relax themselves well after a whole day’sstudy, too much time will be wasted if they get drown in the TVs and movieswithout any limiting from their parents. They may also lose a lot of chances ofsocial activities if they always keep themselves in watching TVs and movies athome.

First of all, watching TVs and movies without limiting may lead childrento be addicted to this entertainment, and this would be a great waste of studytime. Take my neighbor John as an example. He is a middle school student who isvery interested in watching Japanese cartoons. Once he sit down before the TVto begin watching cartoons, there is no one can pull him away from the TV untilthe program is finished. Because the poor control ability as many other adolescent,John is easily to be attracted deeply by the story in the TVs and cartoons, andas a result, he will only care about the development of the story but not if it’stime to study. Then after the cartoons are over, he would do his homework orreviewing of the classes roughly because of the few left time. Then how can achild like this make himself concentrate on his study at school when he doesfew works?

Secondly, if children often watch TVs and movies without limiting, theywill have no chances to join some social activities which does harm to theirsocial communicating ability. This may result in a situation with disadvantagesfor children in school where communicate skill maters. Watching TVs and movies toomuch costs a lot of time which should has been spend in outdoor activities
such as sports and camps. Lacking of spendingtime with other children together, a pupil may get easily lonely kept in homefor a long time.
What’s more important,without a good communicate skill, children may aren’t dare to ask teachers questionswhen can’t get the point of the class well, which will lead a poor efficiencyof their studying. While on the other hand, if parents limit the watching time properly,children will have to go out the house to play with friends. During the gamesplaying with others, they could learn how to communicate, how to cooperate withothers.

Even though the advantages of unlimited watching TV numbers, there arestill some cases in which we may consider that parents don’t limit TV time ofchildren a good idea. One of the cases is that when children come home after awhole day’s hard study, they may don’t feel like to do anything else butwatching TV. Then let them do what they want exactly may be a better than justlimit their TV time for a totally relax may refresh them and make them betterat school tomorrow.

To sum up, in numbered cases parents should let children watch TV as muchas they want, however, in most situations, limit of TV time is a better idea toprevent children from addicted to TV programs and lacking of social skills.

8月18日 20100813NA Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? More and more people spend too much money on their pet (dogs, cats and others), although there are better uses for these money. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Often we talk about pets as an unnecessary toy in human’s life. Although it’s right in some cases, there are many more situations in which pets play a more important role to human world that deserve to get more attention. In my opinion, it’s a pretty proper action to pay much money on pets when there aren’t any better choices in fact or even there are some the payment is still necessary.

What comes first is that when we mention better choices for money spending than costs on pets, we may ignore that what we spend on pets could bring the same thing as what we can get if we pay them on other things. Then why should we choose to pay several times when we only need to pay once to get the same things? The answer is apparently that we shouldn’t. For instance, my neighbor John should have paid a lot of money on medicine and gym for he has bad health and have to go to the hospital often to take medicine and also the gym in which his doctor tells him to get more exercises to be healthier. But after he got a pet dog in chance, all the problems were solved automatic. He had to take his little dog with him to go for a really long way walk and played lots of games with it as well to get it grow healthily. Of course it was an exercise of high strength for himself also because he doesn’t like exercises at all before. As a result, he became more and more strong and healthy and had no more need to go to the doctor. Another good example to illustrate that having a pet is the best is child’s companion. A child without sisters or brothers often feels lonely when parents are away for work. Then the parents have to hire a child companion. But if there is a dog at home, they won’t worry about it. The child can play with the dog as well as train herself the ability to care about others and get more sense of responsibility. Based on the point that having a pet is the best choice in our life in many cases, no matter how much the cost on pets is we can’t consider it too much.

Secondly, there are many cases that we have to pay that much on pets even there are better choices. For example, one’s beautiful cat is going to die because of a kind of serious ill, then he or she has to pay as much as he or she can to save the pet’s life. So in this case, paying is not just for fun, it’s for the respect of life- life in any form but not only the human beings. And it can be demonstrated that the payment of pets is necessary with another example. We all know that there are many precious species of pets that cost a lot of money because there are few of them already in the world. Then if someone like one of these, he will to pay much to get one. Then there are persons who would like to breed this specie to make money which can help the number of the offspring of this specie grow to prevent its dying out. Compare to the great consequence of species diversity kept, the costs on pets not seem too much.

Although the disadvantages of costing lot of money numbers, we still have to pay attention to the case that the money paid on pets would be too much if the payment is not that necessary. The most typical situation is that people always like to decorate their pets without considering the cost of money. At the cases like this I have to say it’s really a waste of money for pets.

To sum up, although are certain situations in which people would pay too much money on their pets and there may be some better choices, in more cases payment on pets are necessary and not too much. The cases include when there are no better choices and when the cost is definitely necessary.

非常感谢你的批改O(∩_∩)O~关于长难句（这个真是高抬啊。。）的使用我会注意的，我也觉得容易出错，但是好像我不由自主就写了⊙﹏⊙b好像是我太罗嗦了~~~~(>_<)~~~~

那个past numbers 不是连着的~past跟前面的连着，numbers是个动词，就是屈指可数的意思~~见笑了
