Giventhe illusion of American Dream and individualism, it is quite common that anincreasing number of people grow more and more confident in China. Theyconsider themselves as supermen and superwomen. Whether how much worse thingsget, they can always save the world is their tenet. Nevertheless, I hold thatindividuals and their families cannot solve all the problems in China,especially when it comes to important problems, such as education, business, andcatastrophes as so forth.
Itis undeniable that government is a guarantee for people’s education. Let’sthink over the education we’ve received: primary school, junior school, highschool and college education, we went to the schools that our government built,ran and supported financially. The government has the duty to make sure thatevery child has the right to be educated, thus there are more than threemillions children whose families can not afford the school tuition haveopportunities to go to school each year in China. Additionally, hundreds ofthousands of college students finish their education with the support ofstudent’s loan. Without it, countless students will not be capable to receivehigher education. We can see that the government plays vital role in solvingone of its people’s important problems.
Whatgovernment have done in the financial field is also indispensable as well.During the past three decades, myriads of middle and small businesses had thestart-ups to enter the market to earn themselves barrels of money. Thousands ofindividual and families were beneficial from the financial support given bygovernment, otherwise, they wouldn’t set up a company at first. This kind ofproblem is far beyond common people’s ability, so it is only the government cansolve it.
Apartfrom the two points above, I believe that the power of single person or his orher family will become negligible facing the terrifying catastrophes. Forexample, the striking earthquake in Wenchuan, Sichuan province in 2008 causedhuge loss to the people there. Within minutes, their houses, cars fell intoruins, their relatives were buried under blocks and walls. At that time,everyone was panic and heart-broken and no one could promise that he or shecould handle all the problems. However, if you take a look at Wenchuannowadays, you will be taken back by the flourish scenes and people’s happyfaces. It only took a few years to reconstruct Wenchuan, which should becontributed to government’s sound arrangement and unceasing efforts.
Allin all, I think people should be reminded that each individual is not strongenough. Maybe we can repair a broken computer or receive a big award throughhard-working, but when it comes to important, serious problems, we still needthe aids from government, which is our safe shelter.
