Issue 38 "In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books." [05/57; 06/3]*字数：480；时间：1.5hours; 日期：8-5 21：15

Outline：肯定电视有其优点但也有缺点，书本的重要性不曾改变
1、电视的评价：优点，可以获得直观的视觉感受。缺点：被动吸收
2、书本的优越性：
2-1 文字可以系统的阐述逻辑关系。举例：专家通过出书而非电视来发表自己的著作，参考者也是 通过书籍获取帮助
2-2 书本的便携性可以使得人们随时随地获取知识；
2-3 阅读书本是一个思维锻炼的过程，而非电视被动的接受总结

这个是第二稿，非常感谢“迷失的自恋者”和“abc”对第一稿提出的点评，在此基础上调整的思路。但是句型和文字还是偏简单，不知道如何改进啊。。。：（

Though we have come into the age of television and can learn a lot through television, the importance of reading booksis not impaired compared to once before and what we can learn from books will never be sufficiently got from television.

Admittedly, with the advance of technology, television has become one of the important media channels, which provides us vivid scenes to get direct optical contact and the efficieny to get updated information. TelevionThanks to television, we are able to observe how wildlife competes for survival in harsh environment, to cheer at home for our supported team winning a goal on the playground far away, to get latest news on the presidency selection, etc. Television opens a new door for us to get close to the outsider world. However, television has its inner shortcomings as well. As most of the TV stations are run for profits, unaccountable commercials which have less meaning for our progress are presented to us. They broadcast bloody violence TV programs in regardless of the harmful influences on the young generation. Therefore, though TV has its merits, its negative impact can’t be neglected as well.

However, the book has several superior traits which will never be easily substituted by television.

First of all, books perform better than television in recording scientific process and outcome. In the form of writing, the book allows people to elaborate detailed and accurate explanation on complicated theories in logic words with data and diagrams. Naturally, books are adopted by scholars to publish their works instead of making TV programs. Consequently, for the people who want to refer to the works, the main channel is the book rather than television. For instance, I will certainly borrow related books from library in order to finish my graduation paper other than turning to television for help.

Secondly, books are portable, which enable us to read them whenever and wherever we wish, while television is a heavy toy to move position. Meanwhile, the programs delivered by TV is confined in a scheduled time for limited times. In this case, if we can’t catch the meaning quite well or miss some content on TV, we will probably lose the chance to figure it out forever; however, for books, we won’t have such worries. We can go through books as many times either in bed or on plane, in the morning or midnight.

Thirdly, book-reading is a kind of cultivation for thinking and analysis. As reading book is a subjective way of learning things, our brain functions actively to get the meaning and logic between the lines of books .In comparison, in the state of watching television, we are mainly passive viewers sitting leisurely in a sofa, which contributes little to improve our thinking or analyzing ability.

So as a whole, fairly speaking, there are advantages of television as well as its inherent weak points, while books, with its merits, will continue to be our most important source to get knowledge and efficient way to improve ourselves.

Admittedly, with the advance of technology, television （复数，或者前面加the） has become one of the （不应该有the，如果有the就应该是one of the most important bulabulabula） important media channels, which provides (为什么是第三人称单数？前面是channels) us （感觉这里加一个with比较好） vivid scenes to get direct optical contact and the efficieny （啥词？） to get updated （up to date） information.

admittedly, with the advance of technology, televisions, which provide us with direct optical contact with up to date information by vivid scenes, have become one of the most important media tools.

a little better? be careful with those minor grammar flaws.
