Some people think governments should spend as much money as possible exploring outer space (for example, traveling to the Moon and to other planets). Other people disagree and think governments should spend this money for our basic needs on Earth. Which of these two opinions do you agree with? Use specific reasons and details to support your answer.

With the fast development of technology and society, people become more and more interesting in the universal our live in as well as the outer space and many programs of discovery on other planets have been carried with the fund of government. When it comes to the question whether it is proper for the government to finance this kind project, some people hold the viewpoint that government should spend the money on enhancing basic needs on Earth, while others consider that it is right for government to put money on exploring outer space. Form personal perspective, government should devote to the improvement of fundamental needs of people on Earth.

To begin with, it is must be acknowledged that exploring outer space can bring some benefits to human beings. Exploring the universal we live can solve many problems which have been confused to scientists and can stimulate new technology. For instance, people sent spaceship and robots to the moon to look for that whether it is one place for human to live in. we also emitted explorer to the Mar to find whether there is water in this planet because water is the most important substance for survival of living organism. To some extents, these projects satisfy people’s curious attitudes toward unknown world. However, from these projects, common people can not get any benefits. Therefore, though it is useful to explore the outer space by the fund of government, human beings gain little benefits from these explorations.

However, government should devote to the basic needs of people, such as improving the standard of living, curing disease as well as offering more chances of education. Albeit people have solved many problems with the progresses of science technology, there are others problems that still place great threat to human beings, such as AIDs, cancer. Government should put more money to treatment of these diseases. For example, in China, these are many people dead from the cancer every year, and to treat this disease cost family a lot of money. If scientists can invent new drug that can effectively cure this disease and has low price, many people’s lives can been survived. Thereby, government should place more money to the basic needs of people.

Furthermore, government should finance education to improve the total level of spread of knowledge and to provide more chances to children to let them have good promising future. For instance, in current China, there are more than 10 million children can not afford their educations because of their poor family conditions. If government can low the price of educations and establish more school as well as employ more teachers, this circumstance can change, which also can beneficial to the whole society. Thus, I think government should spend more money on the education to low the rate of missing school of children.

In summary, thought exploring outer space can bring benefits to some extents, government should put more money to the basic needs of people and only the improvement of standard of living, progresses of education, people can have more interesting and energy to explore the unknown world.
