173. Our poorest-selling magazine issues over the past three years were those that featured international news stories on their front covers. Over the same period, competing news-magazines have significantly decreased the number of cover stories that they devote to international news. Moreover, the cost of maintaining our foreign bureaus to report on international news is increasing. Therefore, we should decrease our emphasis on international news and refrain from displaying such stories on our magazine covers.

封面对销量影响固然重要，可内容不是封面的全部，还有图片，标题的字体，和整本杂志的内容。

只是近三年的结果，如果考虑到近三年的国际环境就不足为奇，但不能决定将来的国际形势，如果未来经济好转，经济类新闻必然受欢迎，所以不能武断的说国际形势的封面就会降低销量。

Over the same period, competing news-magazines have significantly decreased the number of cover stories that they devote to international news.

竞争新闻杂志减少国际新闻在封面的数量是否因为销量？（可能是资金，杂志的思路，驻外记者的不足，即使因为销量，有可能因为在这一时期国际形势的不景气，也说明不了未来的问题）

竞争者缩减的国际新闻在封面的数量，我们也要减少？（可以是一个新的机会吸引读者来扩大销售）

Moreover, the cost of maintaining our foreign bureaus to report on international news is increasing.

反过来讲，如果减少国际新闻在封面的比例，能降低驻外编辑部的开销吗？

To reduce the number of international news in cover of his news-magazine, the writer tells us three reasons why we shouldn’t put the international news in our magazine’s cover. These three reasons seem powerful to prove his opinion. However, we must say, he is wrong.

First, the writer says, “Our poorest-selling magazine issues over the past three years were those that featured international news stories on their front covers.” With this statistics, it’s obvious that we can’t profile with the international news cover. Nevertheless, even if the cover can control the selling, the content is not all. The picture, the typeface of titles, and the index of the whole book are all the important factors which affect the selling. The time over the past three years is also a trouble. The last three years can’t show what will happen in future. So we can’t decide to give up international news in cover just because of this reason.

Second, the next reason is,” Over the same period, competing news-magazines have significantly decreased the number of cover stories that they devote to international news.” Why competing news-magazines decreased their number of cover stories that they devote to international news? The cause may be the funds, or the theme of their magazines. Even though they change because of the selling, we must choose to follow them? How about continuing our magazine with this cover? Who can make sure that we must lose more customers who love news-magazines with international news covers?

And what’s more, the last reason,” Moreover, the cost of maintaining our foreign bureaus to report on international news is increasing”, can say nothing to the writer’s idea. In spit of reducing the international news covers, can we save the money which cost by our foreign bureaus? Maintaining our foreign bureaus to report on international news does not mean to show them in the cover. Moreover, does decreasing our emphasis on international news and refrain from displaying such stories on our magazine covers can save the money costing in our foreign bureaus? It does also need some evidence.

All above, we can’t make the choice to decrease the number of international news and the international news covers. I think the writer must display more powerful evidence to persuade us.

语言上貌似没看出来什么太大错误，只是感觉对逻辑错误的攻击不够，理由太单一
我是参照版主给的分析和范文写的，觉得他们对逻辑的攻击都是用了很多理由
